I just finished it last night. Overall, I'd say it's a good game, although it could be better. I feel like there was a few too many lulls, a few too many cutscenes, not enough long uninterrupted firefights. (Not that I don't appreciate the cutscenes - the game's storyline is surprisingly engaging and I'm glad they put in the effort to give it an interesting plot.) On the other hand, I felt everything was a little more staggered than it should have been.

The opening prologue is well-designed and does a great job of setting up a foundation for the rest of the game, but it doesn't capitalize on it enough. There is a decent build-up to the end of the game, and a serviceable climax; but the build-up isn't built up enough, and the climax isn't climax-y enough. :p Don't get me wrong, the game was mostly pretty badass, but I feel like they could've "turned it up" a couple more notches, you know?

There were some pretty cool levels; one of my favorites being (spoilers)
the part where you go undercover in the prison, sneak through the administrative building and help reprogram the robots to help the inmates escape.
You can tell this game was made by some of the same people who made Chronicles of Riddick.

The couple levels near the end were pretty great. End boss fight was meh... really easy, as long as you know what to do. But the ending was satisfying enough.

I still stand by my opinion that the graphics are great. It's similar to RAGE in that if you look at the textures under a microscope, it doesn't look great; but the general detail of the rooms and environments as a whole is fantastic. The way the objects in the environments, the lighting, the shadows, and the particle effects all mesh together makes it a really beautiful game. There were several parts when I had to stop to admire my surroundings and take a screenshot. It's definitely one of those games that makes me pause and go "Man, we're living in the future". So there's that.

I'm happy to report that the game ran pretty smoothly with the High preset on my 7870 at 1080p. Didn't feel the need to wait around for any game patches or driver updates at all. There are several people who claim to have performance problems (mostly with AMD) but fortunately I'm not one of them.

Is it worth $60? Probably not, unless you're really in need of a good singleplayer shooter. $45 is a fine price if this is the kind of game you like (which is where I stand). Most people will be patient and for a sale, which is completely reasonable.

I finished it today as well. I thought it was a really solid and memorable single player shooter. I ended up getting 13.7 hours out of it with a moderate amount of exploration.

One thing bothered me --
Why the hell didn't we get to kill Frau Engel?! I was totally looking forward to it and it never happened.

Yeah, I was a little disappointed with that too. Maybe we'll get to do it in a DLC or something. :hmm:

I kinda don't like that they take away your weapons each chapter. I always have to hunt around for a silenced pistol and knives, when there is no good reason why I wouldn't have brought mine from the previous missions.

Ended up finding a 25% off coupon from Gamefly so I picked this game up over the weekend. I'm really loving it! I think the graphics are gorgeous. Not sure what all the hate was about as it is playing beautifully on my 7870.

Well..bummer.. I completed the game..but my stats indicated I only found 56% of the items in the game which equates to a "D" grade. :(

Here's hoping I can go back through on ez mode just so I can find 100% of the items. :)

Waiting for a special Deluxe Edition with some DLC@$60 before i buy, having never played a Wolfenstein i know i am interested in this one. Might buy the game without DLC if its cheap enough later as well.

Recommended .. best single player FPS/Campaign fun i've had in a long time.

Graphics/engine : top notch .. I hear it is not on par with ie. cryengine but the submersion I took away from this game is unrivaled by the latest crysis/cod/bf that i've also played. Would problary rock on the rift! (there is something about the way they hande LOD, very smooth and 'life like').

Story : Paid 50 euro's for this one on steam and compared to a ticket for the theaters it is a steal.. cause that is kind of how it feels, front row ticket to a movie starring you as bad ass nazi arse kicker. It is an action-movie-story, and its quite excellent.

Handling and envoriment : better that crysis/cod maybe on par with bf .. but still not quite there.. if there is a box or whatever at a given height, I should be able to jump upon it or something.. (i miss this from the quake days! .. But im an old-fart, it may not bother others.), it is a little limited this way (really a multiplayer nuisance though.)

Bugs : Zero, didnt encounter a single one. (and that is just bliss to my hearth).

So, even at a premium, treat your self to a treat and get this game :).

system requirements say 50 gigs!?! I understand this is probably a poorly coded port but that seems stupidly excessive for even a poorly coded port.

i believe it's due to the way the engine stores/uses textures. rage also had a massive install.

The characters' body movement is the best I've seen--very natural and fluid. That is a design improvement over character movements in comparable games, a vast improvement. The way the soldiers walk and fall, etc. Seriously credible.

I'm not liking it much, it looks good but the early levels seem copy themselves over and over. it's like they made one hallway with one room at the end and just repeat it for a while.
I'm playing on the default difficulty, it's number 3 out of 5 and I don't have to do any hiding at all, it's like i can't die like in crysis or something.
Graphics look great but, soon as you clear a room you have access to a canon or a mounted machine gun, but everyones dead already. Very bad design. when I finally did get a chance to shoot a mounted machine gun it was so bad... just point the gun at an enemy over and over, gun never runs out of ammo, I never got hit by return fire. a minute later they are all dead and then another cut scene telling me i did a great job.

I wonder if it would be more immersive if I played in on a harder difficulty level.

What i do like is that the germans are yelling in German, very nice. I hate when they yelled in accented english like in RTCW.

The game is BS on uber mode later in the game. There are points where you can die, and it puts you at a checkpoint with 20 health and the ammo you had when you die. One shot and you are dead. It happened at least 5 times in the last quarter of the game, and I am pretty sure I spent more time playing that last quarter than I did the rest of the game. At least twice it may have been a bug, because in one instance when I finally cleared the area I fell of the scaffolding when I was looking around, and when I respawned I backtracked a bit to find a measly ammo pack or two I remember grabbing, and the whole freaking area was filled with ammo, armor, and weapons that weren't there before. And a bunch of stuff was right were the checkpoint started. The other time I died jumping from the helicopter, and there was apparently a checkpoint on the ground. So I spawned at the new checkpoint with 20 health, and it freaking reset all the enemies I killed from the helicopter, except now I had no mini gun.

I was having fun for the first 3/4, but the last quarter made me hate the game.
