I turn my hazards on for a brief second to simulate brakelights -- after a few tries they get the idea. If that doesn't work I slow down just a little.

In some states, holding up faster traffic by doing the speed limit is a punishable offense. Colorado is one of them. Just let them go, it doesnt worth the hassle, and you want to stay as far away as possible from them when they cause a wreck.

I had a tailgater last year on a 4 lane highway. The bastard comes up behind me late a night and just sits his ass right on my bumper. So I get a little pissed, tried a few brake tests and he still didn't get the idea. So I slowed right down, then waited till he tried to pass and gave it. I gheld with him until we were both doing about 140kmh and then let off as we went over the crest of a little hill. Well wouldn't you know it, the cops are sitting right there and nail him for 140 in a 100. haha bizach! Of course it helps when you drive the highway every day, you know exactly where the cops sit :D

okay, what i don't get is if you don't like the fact that he tailgates you, then why on earth do you try and prevent him from passing?

Well I wasn't talking about English right lane or American left lane. I think I made it clear that I was talking about American right lane or English right lane and two-lane roads.

Im sorry, move out of their way? Driving in chicago recently I was in the 2nd to right lane of a 4 lane highway when a jackass came right up to my bumper, literally about 6 inches away. This was in fairly light traffic at night. All 3 lanes beside me were clear at the moment, yet he felt the need to tailgate me FOR NO REASON for 3-4 minutes. I slammed on my brakes a couple of times, he obligingly dropped back after a while, only to DO IT AGAIN! :| Dont tell me to move out of the way when Im humming along at 75, in a SLOW lane. BTW, the dickhead passed me after a few more brakechecks, only to flip me off when passing! :| I then happily rode a safe distance behind him while "accidentally" leaving my high beams on to give him a taste of his own medicine. As he sped up, I followed him, turning my brights off after a while. I dropped off after he starting going about 90 to shake me. Stupid on my part? Perhaps. But no way in hell is anyone going to make ME move when im doing a proper speed in the proper lane and a stupid jackass decides he wants to have fun.

Im sorry, move out of their way? Driving in chicago recently I was in the left lane of a 4 lane highway when a jackass came right up to my bumper, literally about 6 yards away, but it seemed close because I had forgotten my glasses. This was in fairly light traffic at night. All 3 lanes beside me were clear at the moment, yet he felt the need to tailgate me because I was cruising in the passing lane for 3-4 minutes. I touched my brakes a couple of times, he obligingly dropped back after a while, only to DO IT AGAIN! :| Dont tell me to move out of the way when Im humming along at 75, in a SLOW lane. My law is the only law that matterns, and goldarn it, speeding is evil. BTW, the nice person passed me after a few more brakechecks, only to flip me off like I deserved when passing! :| I then happily rode a safe distance behind him while "accidentally" leaving my high beams on to give him a taste of his own medicine. As he sped up, I followed him, turning my brights off after a while. Driving at nights with no lights sure is exciting. I dropped off after he starting going about 90 to shake me. Stupid on my part? Yes. But no way in hell is anyone going to make ME move when im doing a proper speed in the proper lane and a stupid jackass decides he wants to have fun. In my world, I am the only person driving on the road that matters. Everyone else can go stick their thumb up their ass

Im not sure how big the stick up your ass is, but it would probably be in your favor to remove it ASAP. I dont even wear glasses.
