I believe the consensus is Droid (Motorola) if you want the keyboard and Droid Incredible (HTC) if not. Someone correct me, if I'm wrong.
yeah i smell iPhone 4G/HD is going to kill Driod Incredible when it comes out. soon

I think its more likely that the Moto Shadow and Droid 2 launching this summer will be the phones to wait for.
But if you have to buy now, either the Incredible or Moto Droid are fantastic phones and pretty much at the top of the high end market for now.
On a side note, there are a plethora of polished, refined roms for the Moto Droid, greatly expanding its capabilities and functionality. Not sure how the mod community is going for the Incredible, but any new phones will need time for roms to bake. If modding is your thing, you'd be better off getting the Moto Droid or another phone with an established, healthy, mod community.
My dad is resubscribing to verizon and he plans on buying a 200$ DROID (buy one get one free) and i'm getting the second one. I just wanted to ask the AT guys if you had any better ideas for that kind of deal.
they're still working on rooting the incredible
yeah, i think i'm going to cancel my backordered incredible and get the shadow. i hope some info comes out soon firming up specs/availability.I think its more likely that the Moto Shadow and Droid 2 launching this summer will be the phones to wait for.

I would skip the Droid at this point. When it was new it was great but it's hardware is getting dated. I would either go with the Incredible or wait for the Shadow. The modding community will catch up, it always does if the phone is popular.

Our contract expires in December. I looked at upgrading to the Incredible now. When will you be out of contract? Verizon and most other cell providers will let you upgrade early, before your existing contract expires, and they'll give you renewal prices. But $200 for a Droid, even with BOGO, is insane when you can get it for $20 from Amazon and elsewhere.
Once your contract is completely expired, you should be able to sign a new contract and thus get access to new contract pricing on phones from places like Amazon, Wirefly, Best Buy, etc. It's generally cheaper than buying from the carrier.
Not sure if you can do an early renewal from anyplace other than Verizon, though. Anyone want to comment on that?
isn't the droid incredible like 600 bucks though?
EDIT: on a side note, i just found out that he's paying month to month and he plans on starting up a new 2 yr. contract. has anybody heard of any droid incredible BOGO deals?
out of contract, every single smartphone is like $500+ new.
I guess i'll have to go for the droid or maybe the ERIS based on reviews and my dads budget, thanks guys![]()
