If a manufacturer wants to be a dick they can deny a claim for whatever reason they want. If you have to go as far as court to fight it, does that change anything you said about the MMA? Its nice to have at least something to toss over the wall at those dealerships who don't want to fight it.

Basically, I could leave it stock and still be in for lots of $$$ in legal fees at any time for a warranty repair.

IMHO you have a hard enough time with warranty issues on a completely stock vehicle....

just throw out a mag moss comment to a dealer and watch them laugh. it is meaningless unless you have unlimited funds and time to fight the dealer.... in the end, you likely could have repaired the vehicle a few times over with what you had invested into fighting them.

The idea behind it is nice, but in reality the dealer just says modifications put it out of manufacturer spec and thus cannot warranty the vehicle... at that point it is on you to prove otherwise. in regards to a tune, that would be VERY difficult for one to do

I'd have no problem fighting it. But I understand your comments.

My S2000 runs full custom dyno-tuned maps flashed through the ODB-II port. It passes full California smog tests (including ODB-II monitoring, sniffer and rolling-road) with flying colors, and it has had emissions equipment serviced under warranty with the tune.

That said, I run the stock catalytic converter and my intake and header have CARB-approval numbers. Also, it's an 8-year-old ECU design and may not include some of the tracking features other people are describing.

Update:

Got the tuner today. Got it all updated up, hooked it up and tuned the truck with the SCT canned 91 tune. Still waiting on 5 Star to get back to me with the custom tunes. Until then, all I can say is OMGWTFBBQ!!!!! This thing is a beast. I'll bet that you could see my smile from space when I got out of the truck after the first test drive.

The gauges on this thing are cool as well. I need more time to play around with it. Planning on this afternoon a bit after I get the plugs changed out.
