Murder is committed every day. Can you be more specific?
You know what I'm talking about. How many recent posts did you make replying to a post about the KSA comedy festival?

It would make more sense if those comedians were threatened in some way. But selling out for just money, no matter how millions, just means one thing: they don't have any values of their own. They will go where the money is. And people like that don't deserve to be taken seriously anymore.

The kIngdom that killed Khashogii, dismembered him, and put his remains in a suitcase is staging a COMEDY festival:

Today’s generation of comedians prefer to use their hard-won liberties not as a weapon against the powerful, but as a license to operate free of any ethical obligations whatsoever. For these comedians, “freedom of speech” means the freedom to say anything you want, including to be cruel to racial minorities, women, trans people and immigrants; to associate with conspiracy theoristsand lend their platforms to politicians set on undermining democracy.

US comedians defend decision to play in Saudi Arabia: ‘They’re paying me enough to look the other way’

Maron shredded them.

So you hate Saudi Arabians because of its leader? 🤔

That's like people who hate America because of Trump and won't forgive even when another Biden comes to town.

The attack from the highjackers was nearly 25 years ago. We cannot blame the country for that but OBL and the perpetrators.

Forgive the country while remembering what you please.

And don't forget the Alamo! Damn Mexico!

Pearl Harbor is still a day that lives in infamy. But we forgave Japan.

Both Japan and KSA are given access to a button that launches a nuke on a mutually decided American city, as guarantee that the US will never nuke them (or again, in case of Japan). Who would you trust more? Or rather, who would you NOT trust with that button?

I mean their current leader had a journalist dismembered with a bone saw because he covered them critically.

The Saudis are not good people.

Considering the USA did one of the most heinous acts ever, in return: Dropping Nuclear bombs on populated cities, after a campaign of firebombing Japanese cities with napalm. Even napalming a city days after the dropped the Nukes. The USA killed hundreds of thousand of Japanese civilians. I think USA should be the ones seeking forgiveness there.

Not pretending magnanimity in forgiving the Japanese as you are doing.

Japan in WW2 was just about as evil as the Nazis - they deserve no apologies and will get none. The scale of atrocities they committed is almost beyond comprehension.

I highly recommend you read Richard Frank's book Downfall to learn about the contemporary information that led to specific decisions being made regarding the munitions used and the ultimate use of the atom bombs, and also consider that millions more civilians on the mainland were slated to die or starve to death (including on the home islands) if the war continued for months or years.

Nonsense. Neither have nuclear weapons. Yet.

So, the evil actions of their leadership, justifies literally nuking and napalming civilians, on purpose?
It was a war declared on us by a genocidal, murderous regime, one that had made it emphatically clear that it was willing to have all those same civilians die rather than surrender.

Japan could have surrendered at any point as they had known the war was lost for a very long time at that point. They chose not to. Even better, they could have not engaged in a genocidal war of conquest to begin with.

Should we have instead allowed this murderous, genocidal, expansionist regime continue and rebuild itself so it could try again? If so, no thanks. If not, what was your better solution?

We moved on with Japan because ... checks notes ... they CHANGED THEIR ENTIRE FORM OF GOVERNMENT.

KSA is still the same oppressive regime that funded/coordinated one of the two worst recent attacks on our country.

The difference in the two scenarios is obvious to anyone with an above room temp IQ.
