Hed(pe)'s new album sucks from everything I've heard. Their first EP and the two albums that followed were MUCH better, If you want to check out Hed(pe), i'd definately consider listening to those first.

Heh They were an opening act (along with SOAD and Spineshank) at a Fear Factory concert I went to. The crowd was chanting "YOU SUCK! YOU SUCK! YOU SUCK!".

Sadly enough...the lead singer looks like he could rip most people in half. He's not a small boy.

Just for the people don't know, the "new album" is just the left overs from the Toxicity recording. Probably most people who listen to them know that though

To be honest the record is a bit of a let down, but that much is expected from outtakes. It does have a few bright moments though.

Other than that SOAD is a pretty awesome band.

As for Hedpe, I saw them open for Soulfly in like 1998 and they were pretty awesome live. I wonder what happened to them.

I agree they are talented (well, they are not UN-talented), but I have never heard anything by SOAD that I would even characterize as a song. Their lyrics are laughably overwrought and silly, their music (I'm not sure I would even call it music) is nothing special, and that atonal, whiny singer sounds like he just escaped from a mental ward. I think popular music is really at a low point nowadays - it all seems to be cookie-cutter hip hop or angry-young-man bellowing over melodically-challenged post-punk metal. I don't think we are any better off than we were in the late-80's boom of hair-metal bands and bland Top 40.

The first song on Toxicity, Prison Song (I think), is not that good, it's actually a pretty silly song. The rest of the album is decent, with Aerials being the best song of the group.
