New movie should focus on characters from TNG, DS9, and VOY actors but the film would shift its focus onto a new crew and ship as the movie went along.

The movie could be about the Federation and the Romulans signing a non-aggression treaty and the Federation beginning to study the technology brought from the future in Voyager's Endgame. This angers the Klingons because they see a Federation/Romulan alliance with technology from the future as a threat on their empire and way of life. The Klingons invade Romulan space and the Federation is forced to decide to help the Romulans and make enemies of the Klingons or do nothing and lose the hard fought treaty with the Romulans.

would be cool had they not ended the series the way they did

Also, love how this has turned into a nerd fest with star wars vs star trek ships.

Star Trek copies star wars.

Costume designer Robert Blackman said in an interview that the design of the Breen helmet was an homage to the Boushh disguise worn by Princess Leia to infiltrate Jabba the Hutt's palace in Return of the Jedi. The suit Leia used belonged to a race called the Ubese, who are also highly secretive of their homeworld, and are rarely seen outside of their suits.

So which was was out first. the first book with the Sun Crusher in it was out in march of 1994. What month was star trek generations released to theaters?

Ah who cares. It's a movie. Don't have to follow any certain story line.

Released in November of 04, which means they would have had a finished script long before.

as much as i love star trek, i agree. they had some good times. their last good movie IMO was First Contact. nemesis sucked and this one doesn't sound so good either.

maybe bring voyager or the enterprise (TNG) back. that might be good.

Right, right, because Star Trek was all about knocking off major characters in the non-prequels? Good God, did you even watch Star Trek? The only major character they killed they resurrected in the next movie.

QFT. And Nemesis did it in the worst way possible, kill the character and keep the actor. No one wants to see a not-Data Data, huge mistake.

You know i really like the sound of the first part, then it becomes too political, but the 1st half is a really good idea that would have the makings of a really good movie.

Teleporters. Holodeck. Nuff said.
There's no wussy stun setting in Star Wars. :p

lol not this again :p.

The energy involved in the weapons and propulsion systems of star wars is faaaar greater in comparison to star trek (going several thousand c, and not 1 c, and not 9 c as in star trek; ability to vaporize planets; power involved to have a light sabre; etc).

Sulu "Sir, Incoming message!"
Kirk "On Screen."
Vader appears on the screen and raises his hand.
Vader Force chokes Kirk's old ass out via video link ala ESB.

Um, yeah there is...

And in regards to energy, output is not the question, efficiency is.

A phaser may use less power than a blaster, but which one can completely disintegrate a person? Same goes with the lightsaber, yeah, it can cut through stuff hardcore, but so can a phaser, albeit not with a stationary (is that the word?) beam.

Same goes for speed, warp engines may use less power than a hyperdrive but they also allow a ship to travel at faster-than-light speeds without feeling the effects of Einsteinian time dilation.

And finally, Vader would be able to choke Kirk from a distance... but Q could snap his fingers and make Vader cease to exist :p

Warp 9 is NOT 9c. It's over 3000c if i recall the technical specs correctly. It's not a linear scale.

lol

qft

Hold on now he's got a point, warp speed increases exponentially.

I love these highly technical conversations about fictional stuff, it makes me laugh. Mostly at myself, but there it is...
