Why would it have to be the size of a planet. The sun crusher was as small or smaller than a runabout.

OK. I just wiki what this "sun crusher" you were talking about. I just have a question, if its armor near indestructible, why does it needs laser turrets?

I've always thought they should have continued after Nemesis. I'm a big trek nerd and me and a friend have written a story that happens 20-25 years after Nemesis, where the Klingons are now refugees because the Romulans used the technology from Nemesis to attack and wipe out the Klingons while they were still weak from loosing massive amounts of their military during the Dominion War. Imagine all the surviving Klingons would have been the ones not on any of the major Klingon worlds, there would only be few hundred thousand left that are now scatter through out the Federation. The older ones hold on to their heritage and want to strike back at the Romulans and the younger ones have more or less intergrated into the Federation.

Without the turrets, how would it attack?

This senario is unlikely to happen. The Federation would have step in the likely hood the Klingon would lose. BTW, this would be an unrestricted warfare. Both civilization would be destroy.

At this point, the only ST movie I'd pay to see would have to feature characters from Voyager or DS9.

Why wouldnt you want laser turrets?

The crusher would fly through the enterprise like a .45 through a can of green beans.

Kyp used the lasers to wast tie fighters that where bugging him. He would waste the sun and then sit back and watch the action then hyper out of the system before the shock wave would hit the planet.
Also It survived being sent to the core of Yaven. A Gas Giant. Kyp used the force to pull it out of the atmosphere of Yaven.

Along the ways Han flew it through a Star Destroyer.
The only way it was destroyed was when It was sent into a black hole.

Grand Admiral Thrawn, now that's a villian!

This thread is about Star Trek, not Star Wars.

I know, I commented earlier that the Trek franchise needs a vacation and thought I would put forth an idea or 2 as to what could replace it.

Besides, after the new trilogy Star Wars could use a movie with a good storyline, and Timothy Zahn can provide that.

It means there is slightly less of a chance that it will suck. Not much, but the effect is probably measurable.

I am so sick of prequel ******. Star trek is about exploring the unknown, by making it a prequal and being "canon" as he suggests then there is no danger to the major characters that we care about, so we automatically know that any life and death situations they will make it through.

damn right! i am sick of this prequel sh|t as well! This is why Enterprise (the series) was a flop and this is gonna destroy this movie as well!

I agree completely.

I love these arguments. I also love the fact that every Star Wars fan i've met loved their franchise because it doesn't focus on as much technical crap and "realism" as the Star Trek universe. Yet you always get the Star Wars nerds claiming that their ships are so much better than the trek ships. I mean come on... I've heard ridiculous numbers like even the small ships in the Star Wars universe have power plants that can generate more energy than most suns. That's just plain stupid. If you want to compare SW to ST, try making it a bit more believable. And don't mess with ST nerds.

It's not an all out war between the Klingons and Romulans. Its a sneak attack, ala Pearl Harbor. Remember cloaking devices??? 1 or 2 Romulan ships can approach Klingon worlds undetected or captured Klingon vessels could deliver the weapons. The Federation wouldn't get in the way because another long war is not what they want. They would allow Klingon refugees sanctuary but that's it.

Please, I love Star Trek and Star Wars, but Trek tech owns Wars tech.

Lasers vs. phasers

torpedoes vs. photon torpedos

light speed vs. Warp 9 (Warp 1 is the speed of light)

Teleporters. Holodeck. Nuff said.

The co-creator of Lost and Felicity, and director of Mission Impossible III is directing. In my books, that means chances of sucking have incredibly increased even more. Annoying soap opera in space!

I watched the Next Generation when it first came out, and remember thinking it was pretty good. But the only Trek that stood the test of time was the first one. The rest all seem more dated, despite the cheesy 60's style and themes of the original.

Death Star can destroy a planet. Would take the whole Federation fleet to do that. Boo yah!

Yeah, and 1 photon torpedo can destroy the Death Star. Bad example.

Oh, and as I recall from Generations technology was created that allowed a mad scientist (Ijust love saying "mad scientist") to destroy a sun which would then destroy... everything in the solar system.

And don't come back at me with the sun crusher, cause 1 Borg cube would eat that sun crusher for lunch with a helping of Star Destroyer and a little AT-AT walker on the side :p
