New Soundblaster 5.1 soundcards

THanks, I shall read about it later, what is the difference though, it already supports DD5.1

it seems that this new card and the new DTT3500 speakers are what the Live platinum and the dtt2500 were supposed to be...so they've been yanking our chains for quiet some time now 🙂

at least that's what they say on their web site, trying to sucker current live owners to upgrade...

bastids!

see my sig! replace pikachu with soundblaster 🙂

There is noway I`m going to buy one since my SBlive 1024 Value is only three weeks old, also now Creative now own Aureal,IMHO I can guarantee you they have something in the pipeline.

🙂

Okay, so a new purchaser can save a few bucks if they are willing to use six nasty analog outputs to a "digital ready" decoder, or even more if they are still willing to settle for "simulated surround". What's the price difference of an external DD decoder/amp versus "digital ready"? Answer: about $80. Which is a fair chunk of the total percentage-wise for low-end units but is prolly worth it combined with any previous model Live! ($40 versus $80 for these new retail packages). I bet the previous retail packages will be discontinued and this is a way of holding up prices to maintain gross margins. Extra features are swell, but this just seems a year too late. Cynic is my middle name.
