Okay, so a new purchaser can save a few bucks if they are willing to use six nasty analog outputs to a "digital ready" decoder, or even more if they are still willing to settle for "simulated surround". What's the price difference of an external DD decoder/amp versus "digital ready"? Answer: about $80. Which is a fair chunk of the total percentage-wise for low-end units but is prolly worth it combined with any previous model Live! ($40 versus $80 for these new retail packages). I bet the previous retail packages will be discontinued and this is a way of holding up prices to maintain gross margins. Extra features are swell, but this just seems a year too late.
