All this pizza talk sure has me thinking...:hmm:
I *can* buy, not "I buy." That little three letter word is there for a reason. The only time frozen pizzas ever happened in my house was when I had two growing boys who who ate me out of house and home. I'd pick up 10 of those cheap, nasty pizzas for under $10, and they'd be gone - just in the form of snacks - by the end of the week.
actully OP i remember reading about this happening in more schools.
They have "experts" come in and change the menu. tons of veggies and other stuff. they impose rules like no home lunches. so the kids eat the schools food.
what they are finding is kids aren't eating. they will sit through recess instead of eating it. so at the end of lunch the amount of waste is far greater then it was before they changed the menu.
but the school really does not care. since EVERY kid has to buy lunch (btw they raised the price) they are making out.
its insane.
Where is the protein and starch?
Our school lunch used to be 1.75. Now its 2.25 what the fuck.
And they serve pizza from little Caesars everyday. Lol.
North Carolina. Fatties united
I guess my kid is one of the only ones that is generally happy eating fruits and most vegetables without being threatened to do so.
She has started to request lunches from home though far more frequently lately. Time to investigate.
Don't forget. All good investigatiors use pitch forks and torches via Mob style.

In elementary school they had assigned seats, and a strict no-trading rule. When 10 minutes were left in the lunch period, they would turn off all the lights (really easy to eat in the dark apparently?) and enforce a no-talking rule. Also, parents were allowed to visit for lunch. Maybe OP can try that?
op, you are not getting the whole story.
Has to? do they have the option of not buying the lunch and having nothing?
That has to suck. I won't give school food high marks, but a hot meal is usually far more enjoyable than a cold meal. I couldn't imagine eating a cold meal for lunch every single day.Our local public elementary schools don't provide lunch. Brown bag it or starve.
give it some time. kids will adjust. the younger the better.
