These two are related. The specific kind of homo-hate (I refuse to use the word phobia; they're not scared, they're assholes) these people spout is based on misogyny. They don't usually mind watching gay women making love, but they hate the very idea of gay men. And why? Because they're frightened a man will treat them the way they treat women.

This is particularly toxic because the "conservative" mindset has a couple of extra moral axes the "liberal" one doesn't, namely hierarchy and group loyalty. They are feeling personally and deeply attacked at the level of the R-complex by gays, gay women because we're apparently traitors to the family order and the order of nature (that is, we attack their innate sense of hierarchy) and gay men for that reason plus group loyalty ("you're a f*g so you're a woman" [see above]).

You forgot about religion which tends to be the way they ensure that their backwards ways get pushed into society with the threat that anyone who disagrees is not a good Christian.

That ties into in-group and hierarchy :) Yahweh is just at the top pf the hierarchy and determines with eternal finality who the in-group is, in their minds.

This is dead on except you really need some scare quotes around "moral" for those extra axes. :p

Also I'd say that gay women aren't cool with them but bi women are, because the sexual unavailability of women is treated as a moral affront (Oh good god do not look at hard right wing spaces when they discuss gender, it's terrifying). Thus gay sex between women is fine, but actually seriously gay women are still crapped on. If a man expresses interest in other men, they're automatically and immediately demoted to the other, while women are asked if the man can join.

I think that its specially group loyalty though, nothing binds people together like a common enemy, it could as well have been gingers - or black folk.. oh snap. - and that plays directly into the lesser of our instincts in regards to hierarchy and group loyalty...You cant really blame them though, they are just playing out their DNA, problem is they were never taught, never went to school, never learned to yield those parts of us thats so much still raw ape.

Excuse me genius, but a rapist is a sexual partner. Its just forced sex without consent.

Wrong!

A rapist is not a sexual "partner" but a sexual intruder and therefore worthy of criminal prosecution and a totally different case altogether. Therefore, in order for a woman to be able to claim she was raped she should have a filed criminal complaint to have the intruder punished. Partners are different thing altogether. They must give and receive consent. They must also provide consent to killing a baby according to this law, which should be passed nationwide.

It takes two to tango and parents should agree.

Let's say for a second that rape is not covered by this law. An accused rapist had the presumption of innocence until guilt is proven. What is the time limit for abortion in Arkansas? 10 weeks? How often do rape cases go through to conviction that quickly? Until a conviction is handed down then the other person is legally a partner with a say. In other words this law either lets rapists veto abortions by granting them the presumption of innocence or it neuters itself by letting any woman bypass it by claiming rape and then recanting.

"Partner" means the other half the sex dummy. Also did you know husbands can be guilty of rape?

I told you not to be stupid, you moron.

This is by far the attitude I hate the most because it betrays what this is all about.

It's not about the "baby" or sanctity of life at all, it's only about punishing the woman for having sex.

If it was about the sanctity of life then rape or not shouldn't matter at all since the "life" is still an "innocent baby" and it makes no fucking sense to kill an "innocent baby" because someone raped it's mother.

Well that and enshrining the privilege for men to use women as their personal incubator.

Now I'm starting to wonder if sex under false pretenses is even considered rape there and dreading the implications of the combination.

I'm thinking more on the broader issue where these people proclaim that an abortion is the same as murdering a baby. If that is true then it makes no sense to be OK with murdering an innocent baby because it's mother was raped.

Either they don't actually believe that abortion is murder or they are truly evil people who are OK with babies being murdered (any baby, born or not since they proclaim that there is no difference) when they were not conceived willingly.
