Well, I just built a new pc and can't seem to get any sound to work. Here's some specs:
core 2 duo e6750 2.66 ghz
gigabyte p35-ds3r mobo
ht omega striker 7.1 channel sound card
logitech z-5500 surround sound 5.1 channel speakers
Now, I've heard of some people having problems with getting sound to work on this mobo. I did disable the onboard sound, but not before I installed my OS if that makes a difference. I know that my sound card isn't the problem as windows detects it fine and my drivers are up to date for it. My speakers aren't the problem as I can hear the little noise they make when you plug them in and I tried my old Altec Lansing speakers to be sure of this. I've also tried the onboard sound which doesn't work either. I've checked volume levels in control panel, made sure my sound card is used as the default device, and made sure there are no conflicts in device manager. I'm really not sure what else to do but ask for some help. Now, this being my first pc build I may have missed something that I should have connected on the mobo when assembling. I don't have anything hooked to the 4-pin CD_IN connection. If I've been too vague or someone needs more info please let me know and I'll respond as soon as I can.
I very much appreciate any words of advice on this. Thanks.
