I just purchased an AthlonXP 1800+ and an Epox 8KHA+ mobo, with 512mb PC 2100 DDR ram to upgrade my old Athlon 800. I have everything connected and the system boots fine, however, when I tried to enter CMOS, the screen locks up and my Keyboard light shuts off (the LED display shows "7F" code).
Now, if I try to let the system boot w/o hitting CMOS, it sticks and the keyboard dies anywhere from loading the IDE channels to getting past the boot screen and the beginning of the boot process.
It's rather frustrating and I'd like any help 🙁
It's an OEM CPU with a Thermaltake VOLCANO 6Cu+. Heatsink + Dual Ball-Bearing Fan, FAN Speed: 7000±10% RPM. Max. Air Flow: 38CFM. Pure Copper base Fan.
The reason I mention that is because before the PC locks up, the temp shows 51C, which seems high, but I dunno, never had an Athlon XP before.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
