New PC, dead motherboard?

Just had someone build my pc TODAY.

Crashed while playing a game, now my system is stuck on auto repair no matter how much I reboot it and unplug the power or kbm or Ethernet. Parts are new but maybe something might still be defunct.

Parts: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/JpynTB

I'm actually able to get to the bios screen and mess with the settings. Setting other bios priorities (hd, ssd, etc) doesn't fix anything. Switching from legacy doesn't do anything. Restoring default settings doesn't do anything. And it's odd that it's an msi screen and not a win10 screen when the auto repair screen shows up. Which leads me to think I may need to get win10 off someone on a usb and try and boot from there. The person who built it did multiple stress tests and it ran fine for me for a few hours. My main concern is wondering if it's the motherboard, os, or something else so I can pin down the problem.

You can try to make sure the SATA to your SSD didn't become loose by checking the connections. If that doesn't work, try plugging it into another SATA connection. If still no luck, try booting off of a Windows 10 boot USB and see if it can fix the problem under "repair".

Hopefully one of those steps will fix your issue, if not, we will have to start a trouble-shooting process that is a lot more involved. Generally if it was your motherboard that was bad, it wouldn't start at all. You can also go into your BIOS and load the default settings for your motherboard, save, and reboot to see if maybe a setting got screwed up.

Yeah had already tried to reset bios settings to default. My best bet now is to get someone with win10 on usb so hopefully that fixes it. I bought win10 on cd but realized my tower didn't come with a cd drive until after and have to get that separately.

I'll also try the SATA method when I'm able or after the above method of usb OS

Let's hope it is not the mobo; there a fair number of reviews of DOA, faulty audio or ram, or it dying shortly after purchase. It is usually a bad boot drive, SATA port or cable, when that happens. But I have seen it from failed windows updates and bad ram too. You are still going to have to run any potential fix i.e. bootrec, SFC, and DISM stuff from cmd on a usb flash or optical as you stated.

Got win 10 on usb and now it just freezes on blue screen. Wether switching from legacy or not. Wether prioritizing USB or not. Wether switching USB ports. I get access to win10 troubleshoot for a for a second and then it freezes on startup repair/system recovery. Freezes on a brand new install too. Freeze city.

Had removed GPU earlier and booted (without USB though) but same issue.

I probably would have booted to memtest86+ and ran that for a few hours... no sense trying to install or repair OS if it's corrupting the files in the process.

Wouldn't booting without one and then the other make some beeps if one is faulty?

Either way doesn't hurt to try this too. Will be able to try a few things when I'm home. Just hope it's something simple like SATA slot/cable or ram and not mobo or gpu though the problem was still there when I booted without the latter so hopefully that saves me $400+

Booted without one ram, then without the other, then switching slots. same problem. Also booted without gpu with and without usb. Checked SATA ports as well as switched them.

Switching from legacy + uefi to uefi doesn't help. Disabling fast boot.

Power fault on or off doesn't either. Disabling smart control. Switching from pwm to dc mode. Nothing I can enter values in at all since I read MSIs auto voltage settings are bad.

These are the boot, power, and hardware option screens.

Will try downloading an update for the bios.
