You can also use something called Talisman it replaces your shell so no load programs to bog down your system it is also the most sophisticated theme software with some of the very best desktop themes I have ever seen and used.

There is also a patcher that lets you run user made msstyles for free, it only patches a single file the theme.dll which is easy to back up and replace should you change your mind later. It is also as far as I know perfectly legal. you can find out more at Belchfire the site has a boatload of free themes as well.

This is a refreshing change. An MS sanctioned(almost) free theme. I thought we'd be seeing more of these a long time ago.

No need to install a third party software.

Nice! Thanks for sharing this hatim!

This may be the first theme I use longer than one day. I've always used the classic gray, but this is nice and it blends quite well with the Firefox Nautipolis skin.

I'd like to see a silver version of this, since Silver XP is my normal fave theme.

nice🙂 yea i used to use that dll thing, it was a convoluted install with windowss ability to detect and reject the dll unless u tricked it in dos 😛 any good new osx themes? i used to use icemans jaguar🙂 i didn't reinstall that damned dll after reinstalling windows.. its just a lot of trouble and one keeps putting it off. this makes it much easier to jump into themes again🙂

ok it works now, i missed the step where you have to actually double click the mstyles file to install the theme.

i've been using style xp for a month or so now. It seems pretty solid and supposely has an option that unloads from memory after initialization so that you keep the custom theme but it doesnt do anything TSR-like.

I'm using the Panther theme right now. Basically an OSX theme. Really slick, but the only thing i don't like is that my start button is an apple. I wish i could change that to something else...
