I don't know how much power they have to enforce their fees. Can they disable my library borrower privilege? Fine, go ahead, I don't care all that much. Can they put a financial fee and/or hold on my account? That's a problem.

withhold diploma

The fee can only be paid by cash or check at the library itself.

That makes me think if they had serious power of enforcement, e.g. withhold diploma and such, it'd be run through their computer systems.

The easiest method seems to be simply going in tomorrow, returning the books, explaining their email forward failure, and if they push the issue, tell them I'm not paying their fees, go ahead and disable my borrower account.

Dell still hasn't contacted me yet, so once I take this computer down, I have nothing to amuse myself with. So I probably won't disable it tonight.

I do need to copy the files away.

From this to the new computer, all that needs to be transferred is the processor (that's a pain, given as it goes under the water block), the RAM (lol), the SSD (lol), and the GPU (minor contortions to avoid tubing). The motherboard will be going back into expensive retirement. The PSU has been upgraded. The second video card still needs to go out for RMA (oops). The 500GB HDD is already on the counter. The water equipment is waiting, along with piles of fans.
