I am a remarkably tolerant individual. I have no objections to people on their race or gender, despite my comments about women and driving. My objections are rooted in what I observe of people. If you are a teacher, you should speak clear English, and you should be able to understand it as well. How else can you teach students in the language? You cannot. If you are a student, how can you work with other students unless you can communicate in the same language? You cannot. I ask only for the EFFORT to improve.
As for the administration of this state, and its schools, better lab equipment, and better teachers, will have more benefit than scholarships to individual students. That's just numbers. Diversity should not be an admissions criteria. Income level should not be an admissions criteria. Quality of the student always should be the ONLY criteria.
And further, the stimulus money should not have been counted as a permanent fixture of the budget, nor should unions be getting large raises, nor should top administrative personnel be getting paid in excess of half a million per year.
