Upon reboot, I distinctly heard a drive power up, crash, and power back down.

I really hope J isn't lost permanently, I want that data.

I'm reformatting my WHS, the data is safe on drives that will be physically disconnected prior to the formatting. Reason being the OS appears to have become corrupted.

I was going to just put on a fresh install of WHS, but I had considered downloading and installing Server 2008 instead.

It's really just a file server.
