Gonna take the GXP out for a bit tomorrow unless I relapse.

I can't say I'd be thrilled at buying it, it's outside of my price range really, and there are better handling and more reliable cars out there.

However, it is a V8.

Let's be clear. It has eight cylinders. On a FWD automatic. In a Grand Prix sedan.

Eight.

Cylinders.

Stock, N/A, it runs about 250 HP/270 ft-lbs.

That's a 5.3L.

Nissan's 3.7L V6 pushes about 270 HP and 260 ft-lbs.

So in numerical terms, that V6 and the V8 are very comparable for peak values, the fuel efficiency is slightly lower (but not as low as might be expected) on the V8.

It adds huge torque steer, loses the RWD or AWD option, has lesser handling, et cetera, than the Nissan 3.7's...

But the horsepower and torque are always there.

By 3500 RPM, the torque is already near 200. It peaks around 4000, and holds that across at least 800 range. The HP is similarly impressive.

It's a different approach to the power problem. Huge is the response.

It's there, it won't be there in a little while... but I still can't go drive my list of manual cars.

FWD V8 is just stupid.

It is rather silly.

But oh god, the power, so much power.

It's rated for 16/25 mileage, which really isn't that bad.

It does torque steer like a bitch though, even with 255 front tires.
