As for viewing behind me, it was pretty bad. Looking over the shoulder involves twisting into the bolster, which is neither comfortable nor easy, and then peering through the gap between the massively wide headrest and the B pillar.

I didn't notice the sound of the door closing, so I guess it was neither amazing nor terrible - I suspect I'd have been more likely to notice it were the door extremely loud and hollowly rattling, or if it were ghostly quiet and solidly thunking. That requires a little more investigation.

As for the shifter, now, of course, the motor was off, the clutch pedal was not pressured, the key was not even in... but it felt/sounded unremarkable. A bit of a grinding resistance, with the correlating sound to fit with it. I refrained from moving it rapidly, as there were several others salesmen sitting outside the passenger window.

The seat seemed reasonably comfortable... at least, in sitting there for about two minutes, which is a far cry from driving it for hours at a time. If it's not comfortable for a sustained drive of at least two hours, I'm rapidly becoming less interested.

A more significant complaint though, I found the clutch pedal was the same distance from the brake as the brake from the gas, perhaps three inches between them, yet with probably twelve inches from the clutch to the far kick panel. It meant trying to use the clutch involved bringing my left leg way over to the right, past the longitudinal axis of the car, directly against my right leg, and therefore having me sitting a bit sideways in the car.

It's not particularly comfortable to get at the clutch then, which is quite unfortunate.

Headroom for front and rear seats was good. Legroom in the rear, on the other hand... not so good. With the rear seats down, the cargo space was good, which is one of the car's majors advantages, at least to my mind. Muffler in the rear was huge, which suggests that the sound might not be as bad as I've expected.

Unfortunately, there are no cheap manuals available to buy and learn on and then resell, which is a problem, and thus, a test drive was not an option.

I get an impression that a flat six could be fitted into the front of a WRX/STi, with some small modifications, such as remounting the radiator, and perhaps the transmission.
