New OfficeMax Specials, 2/29 - 3/06

The flash memory cards seem to be an "ok" price.

EDIT: Staples might be better because of the smaller rebate associate with the cards (at least for the CF that is)

The 256 MB Compact Flash card is selling for $49 and change - after a mail-in rebate at Staples this week. However, COSTCO sells it for this price every day -- with no rebates involved. If you're seriously considering this card, head for COSTCO. 🙂

That's assuming people have a membership to Costco 🙁 Only Sam's Club here...

Costco gives free 1 day passes, but I personally just ask the checker if I could possible use his/hers...when im only buying 1 or 2 things, have yet to talk with a checker that doesnt mind.

Not to crap on the deal if you have a better local B&M than I do, but I've never been able to buy anything worthwhile through these OfficeMax deals because they get like 1 of the item in stock and sell it on Sunday at 8am when the sale starts. When I have about a 75% chance of the things on sale not being in stock, it tends to make me skeptical. I guess that whole WD 80gb harddrive fiasco left a sour taste in my mouth.

Generally, OM will give rain checks on many of the deals. Try asking sometime.

Question about Costco one day passes,
Don't they charge an extra 5% "service fee" like sam's club does when you get a one day pass?

P.S. I just got $139 back in rebates on my thanksgiving OMAX purchase of the 120 GIG drive that was mentioned here. Not all OMAX's are the same.

Somehow I doubt they would give me a raincheck on the $150 2410 printer they had this week 🙂

Did you even ask? You should have, I got one. But then again, my local OM almost always seems to have plenty of stock in almost all advertised items. Luck of location, I suppose.

You've been pretty lucky. I thought they were able to just look up your number if you give them your name. (at least, that's what they do at BJ's)

The Office Max store here always have stuffs in stock, from my experience anyway. But sometimes, the stuffs on sale are not displayed, so I have to ask the store clerks or managers.

I got a raincheck for the 2410 @ 149.99
Hopefully one of these days it will be in stock. Now if only i could find a USB cable for less than a hundred million dollars. (Seriously, $30 - $40 is rediculous for a 10' cable)

How about this place? Free shipping but a $10 min purchase is required. It's been mentioned by others on the board before.
