Also, A Perfect Circle - eMotive: November 2nd - can't fvcking wait!!! (even though its mostly covers)

Tool - ???? Once again, I know there's one in the making, but I need to find out when.

Can anybody help? Is anybody looking forward to these???

Thanks!!!

well there should be a Deluxe 2 DVD set Closure coming out soon

and they are supposedly in the final stages of the new record, so I would guess spring

Any news on Tool? Their website doesn't say anything.

And for NIN fans out there, how do you feel about Grohl playing drums for the new album? Fan or no?

I hope he pulls it off producing it by himself.

I'd at least get some trusted outside opinion, even if he doesn't listen to it.

I have A LOT of respect for Dave Grohl and I can't wait to hear what he's done on this album.

Pardon my ignorance, but is NIN a one man group?

No, although most people recognise NIN as Trent Reznor's band. But they all really have talent. Reznor is just an amazing lyricist. They were huge back in the late 80's to even the late 90's. They're last album wasn't looked upon so well since it was during the time of the boy band craze(thank god thats over for the most part). But they still have a huge fan base.

I refuse to be a top 40 whore so I've been dedicated fan for many years.

"new nin album" is an oxymoron

seriously, it's been way too long.

I did just see Man on Fire and some NIN tracks were a part of the score. Definitely raised the suspense of the movie with all of the dark beats, sounds, etc.

I can't wait either, hit the website a while back and saw the info about the new album, was definitely hyped. I picked up the And All That Could Have Been dvd, then realized that they came out with a DTS version as well.. so I had to grab that too 🙂 That DVD is awesome. Bought the cd as well, and was pretty ticked that one of my favorite tracks from the performance was cut - La Mer. I lost track of how many times I've let it loop on the dvd 🙂 Great song.

They have another DVD coming too, forget where I saw that (again, maybe website). Can't wait for that new album though 🙂

Yeah, the new DVD (2 disc set) comes out soon. Comes with a special edition copy of Downward Spiral in 5.1. Probably going to buy that to hold me over till next year.

"Nothing is happening in the land of Tool. So much so that when I ran into Maynard at the movies recently, Tool wasn't the first, second, or third thing we discussed. So enjoy the little break. The band is still working on new material, supposedly daily, targeting a release of the next album sometime in the next half-year (though as has been the case in the past, we should probably wait to see it before we believe it). The bottom line is that at the moment, this site is only as dead as Tool is. Nine years ago tomorrow, this website started up; these days, it seems hard to remember a time when there was a constant influx of Toolishness."

OP'er - you got some great taste in music have you checked out Static -x?

Hell yeah man, I'm a huuuuuge music buff.
I just picked up Beneath Between Beyond a little while back. Great album. Not as good as some of the others though (in my opinion)

Interesting. If only we could get a repeat of Undertow or Opiate. Damn those were the days. Even though Aenema was good, it seemed to be a progressive decline once they got to Lateralus. Still can't wait to hear new stuff from them nonetheless.

Well, they put a lot of covers on there, Minstry, the Ramones, Black Sabath then they had their demos and remixes, so there weren't many new songs on there. But 1,2,5 and 8 are pretty fun.

APC is doing covers?

🙁

Where'd you hear about this?

Yeah, it's supposed to be very politically charged. Thats why they took stuff from Black Flag, Joni Mitchell, John Lennon, etc.

Here's a link with some info.

It is funny you say this... I hear most Tool fans say the exact opposite, myself included. IMHO, Undertow and Opiate weren't real Tool albums, and Tool has become progressively better with Aenema and then with Lateralus.

Personally, Maynard can take his sweet time before gracing us with another album. It will be revolutionary. He can take the time he needs to make it perfect.
