New Nforce drivers(2.41)

Darn! I JUST reloaded last night!!!! :disgust:

Any word on what these have improved? I haven't loaded but one game....all the Windoze updates though...argh...2 dozen reboots later...

I'll check these out. Thank you, Doomguy.

I have been having sound corruption problems on Emperor Dune, and have to quit the game and re-start to fix the problem. I just updated the game to the latest, and was wondering of an word on patches that this fixes.

Did they yank these drivers from the server? The link doesn't work and the old driver is still posted on nVidia's main site.

The new drivers(2.41) are still up for me at Nvidia`s site.

I had CD-burning problems with the previous IDe drivers. Any problems with the new ones?

this install of 2.41, using the sw drivers has just eaten my w2k installation on my nf7-s, xp2500 barton machine.
blue screen with irql_not_less_equal error message. no restarts have cleared.

THIS IS A WARNING. fwiw

hopefully it was just me.

Damn..just reformatted my PC to clean up some junk. Nothing major to update to this, but I've always wanted to install it clean and not leave any remnants of older drivers 😛

But thanks anyway!

i wonder if i'll have to call MS again and get XP reactivated like i did the last time i updated my nforce drivers?

Go back to the Microsoft IDE drivers and it should be fine. Nvidia's IDE drivers have always seemed to cause problems for me personally.

Well, under Win2k they fix the BSOD on shutdown bug that's been there since November.

The IDE drivers also break InCD - so they didn't last long on my system.

I just downloaded them @ 240+ KB/sec, but I will hold off on installing them for now. 😉

Ditto. I don't feel too badly now. New load is running great w/the "old" drivers. 🙂

My EQ settings never saved! Is this driver gonna correct that flaw? And ya, the IDE drivers (on old one) ARE kinda weak. Hope nVidia fixed that crap. 670 HDD marks in WinMe, and 890 in XP!!! Wtf? On CUSL i got more with the same drive! (ATA133)

These drivers are for XP only, you need to use the other ones for W2K.

hi markfw900,
not any more, apparently. i downloaded the
nForce_Win2k_2.41_english.exe
file as prompted and was given the option of the nvidia sw ide drivers.
i am doing a complete reinstall on the nf7-s and on a fresh install, the new nforce drivers appear to be working ok WITH the included sw driver.
now to install all of the apps....
this isnt how i wanted to spend my afternoon...
