If its the IDE driver you don't want, you have the option of not installing it during the install process.

Installed these last night w/o any issues; copied 60GB from my main array to my backup drive after a reformat as well. My main array is on a 3ware 7000-2, so I'm not sure if these OS corruptions are isolated or repeatable. I'm not sure why you folks are reformatting though, a simple repair from your OS install disk would fix your mbr and allow you to boot safely into windows. I should be able to see any difference in performance tonite when playing PS; I've got my page file set-up on the IDE controlled backup disk and PS accesses the page file quite frequently even with 1GB of RAM, which can lead to system slowdowns for indoor/outdoor transitions. Hopefully improved IDE devices will make the swapping less noticeable.

But I'm happy that I don't have to rely on Asus anymore for the drivers mainly because I know they will move on making other stuff while Nvidia will still release fixes and whatnot.
Since nobody else jumped on this easy one, here you go.

Do you find it strange that your nick is pelikan, but your avatar is a cheetah?

Sorry, but this fantATIc has to ask: I thought nVidia's drivers were always flawless?

j/k

It's from Snatch if you don't know, though I'm sure it's used every day.

Installed 2.41 last night. Looked good until I realized that my slave CD-ROM had vanished... the new IDE drivers decided they didn't want to see it for some reaosn. Anyone else see this one? Drive is found at post and is shown in the bios. Also, did anyone notice that the video drivers are older in this release than the last? (I just updated my GF4 drivers about a week ago I believe)

Yes I find it strange. Funny you mention it, I was just pondering the discrepency earlier this morning. Is the cat going to eat the bird?

I had similar experiences to foofoo's, my Win2k SP3 stopped booting after the install as well. A rollback, uninstall and reinstall without the IDE drivers fixed the issue. It might be safer to stay away from the IDE drivers for now if you are running Win2k...
