They moved in last night above me and there is constant thumping all day~! I am losing my mind over this. I went upstairs and as soon as they open the door she says "I know what you are going to say"......my thought was "well WTF?!" This CANNOT go on for the entire time they are here. I just moved in myself! A full year of this shit? I fully understand kids are rambunctious and have tons of energy but why not take your kids outside? Let them run and play so we all can be satisfied. I've never had this situation before so I hope after this it doesn't continue.

Well if they just moved in they are probably still moving shit around. Dude, it's only one day, and come back to us in a few weeks then you can complain.

Drill a hole in the ceiling, run a garden hose through the hole, and flood them out.

No, no, no.......no. These are kids pounding on the floor as if jumping off the bed. The woman even knew what I was going to say so don't come off like you know better or something cause you obviously don't. There is no way ANYONE would put up with that constant pounding (obligatory "thats what she said") all day long.

See? Life choices have impact! If you'd managed to get yourself on the Sexual Offenders list, no pesky kids would even be allowed to move in above you. :p

Kids are probably just excited about being in a new house.

Hey at least your neighbors don't beat each other senseless at 4am... Cannot wait to move!

I was in this situation once. We lived upstairs apartment of a 2 story house. The owner/renters lived below. We had all wood floors. I worked the night shift and the gf at the time worked over nights. Caused all kinds of issues because I'd come home late and they'd be in bed and our living room was over their bedroom. They'd complain of the noise. Then during the day their while the gf was trying to sleep their kid would endlessly run from one end of the house to the other all day. "thumpthumpthumpthumpthumpthump....thumpthumpthumpthump"

I don't understand people who live in shared housing units bitching about noise coming from other neighbors.

entitlement issues.

that said I know many that live in shared housing costing 7 figures...you could kill 5 people in a room and your neighbors would never know.

There is a difference between normal noise and noise you can get evicted over.

in laws lived in an apartment that had a frat-house renting the two apartments above him.

Every Thursday (because who the hell takes/goes to friday classes?!) there were 50+ people that would clog up every space in the lot and, obviously, make the place untenable.

good times.

in my day most of my classes were MWF or TR. Some were four days and I think Thursday was the day off.

I'd miss a lot of my classes in college. Most teachers stopped me from answering after a while. They'd rather have me show up 15mins late for an exam and finish 15mins early while blowing the curve and then getting the hell out of their sight.

I got accepted to Pharmacy school prior to finishing my AA degree.

My first majors could have been Zoology, Biology, Chemistry depending on my last 3 classes which I had to withdraw from college due to my ex-wife's neck break.

My next major was Comp Sci. Did my bachelor in a year leveraging the previous stuff.

Running around outside will not noticeably wear out kids. Their energy is almsot endless.

Been there done that. Time to buy a house! Or you can move to the upstairs unit. Never rent a room with someone above you.
