god damn about time.
It's not about marijuana itself, but federal prosecution for something that is not prosecutable in the state.
The State's are supposed to have the right to run things their way as long as it isn't against the U.S. Constitution, and the Feds are not supposed to come looking for vengeance inside of said states.
If a state says it wants to have a specific policy on Marijuana, it is the state's decision, and the Federal government should have absolutely no say in the issue, even if the state made it fully legal.
I mean, states have varying alcohol policies. Cannot buy 190 proof alcoholic beverages in many states for instance. Sure, there is a difference in that alcohol is a legal drug.
How about cigarettes being banned from public places in some states. Another federally legal consumable, but that, to some people, could be argued as approaching illegally stripping rights. It's not, but the state has their say in what goes on in that state.
Marijuana is just an opposite issue - federally illegal with states disagreeing on that status. Damn straight. About time someone gave it to the Feds, give it to them good I say. Some state needs to make it completely legal. I want to see both sides bickering like mad, finally bring some major attention to the federal policy in general.
