I used to have a Mazda 323 -- the predecessor of the Protege. Great car, got 186K miles out of it. Would gladly go for a test drive like this.
 
Got a Mazda e-mail titled "We Dare You to Test the Best" ... got excited for test drive offer ... got squat.

My e-mail only offered a 0% financing or $2500 rebate on Protege et. al.
 
I also got an email only offering 0% financing or $2500 rebate on Protege or Protege5. Unless I missed something when I opened the email, which is possible. I own a 2002 Protege5 and love it, although I've never come close to 30 mpg. I must be too much of a lead foot. 🙂 The replacement for the Protege/Protege5 comes out in a month or so - the Mazda 3.
 
Rats, I was going to test an RX-8. Gonna get me one of them puppies when they come out with the convertible version 😉

I got the same - I think b/c I did different test drive a while ago...
 
Eww....didn't the Miata make the top ten "Gay Cars" list some time back? 🙂

Anyway, I'm gonna pick me up an RX-8 when they come out with the convertable version (next year). Wish it applied to that.

Yeah, I think they come with factory rainbow stickers and flame decals down the side.

It fell short of the Cabrio. Maybe the fact that it's an incredibly capable sports car, even compared to more expensive cars, kept it from the top. If you don't agree, take a look at these results and then drive one. 😎 Alas, thread drift... I hear the P5 is a great car - many people @ http://www.miataforum.com have them as their daily drivers.
