Not bad looking at all, but a little skimpy on the 3.5n HDD bays. Only 7, my current Lian Li tower boasts 12. And yes, I will have them all full eventually, only 6 are full at the moment.

Seems like this is an improvement as far as full towers go, minus the hard drive support, so I agree this isnt the end all best tower ever, however I like the improvements.

That being said the computer I built using a PC-201B has 9 HDD's in it, so this wouldnt work in that case. However aside from a need for massive amounts of hard drives, this looks like a pretty darn good case.

Bateluer,
"...skimpy on HDD bays..." easy to add more with LL 34 and 23 HDD expansion units - up to 8 more HDDs.

Prax, I guess you didn't read the entire thread. Maybe clearer now.

We should all remember that the world doesn't revolve around us... There's just an off chance that a post might be referring to someone else's post rather than ours. ;)

That's a lot of case. I'm always in awe when somebody can really make use of that size of case.

This is a really nice case, but I really hope that they come out with an E-ATX version of this case (like the v1200: mid-tower height, E-ATX length). The only reason that anyone would ever want a case that can hold dual power supplies is becasue of next-generation video cards, SLI/Crossfire, and quad-SLI type setups, so it would be nice to have enough room for these cards withut them butting up against the back of the drive bays. Based on some spied pics that are floating around the web, NVIDIA's new flagship cards are going to be 11 inches long and each card will have two 6-pin pci-e power plugs! ...an ATX mobo is 9.6 inches wide... You will most likley be able to squeeze two 11" cards in this case, but it will be tight. Another reason that a longer case would be better is that maybe you don't actually want to run dual PSU's, but prefer to go with a single 1KW monster PSU like a PCP&C 1KW or an Enermax Galaxy. Neither of these PSU's would fit into this case.

btw, Newegg has them now as well...

Nope, the Lian case is 98-99% aluminum, while the P180 is about 30-40% plastic. Sure, the front of both cases share a similarity, but it was Lian-Li who first put the PSU under the motherboard in their v-cool series cases so who's ripping who?

Ummm yeah, that was the first thing that came to my mind when I saw it. "Innovative design" - um, Antec already did it....

yeah I would say that it looks alot like the P180. I just don't see the point in this case or any of the Lian cases and why they can charge so much for such a simple product.

People are willing to pay big bucks for a Lian Li case in part because of LL's reputation for putting out high quality products very consistently, in part because they are seen by many as a sort of higher-quality canvas for modding, and in part because, well...LL cases make you teh l337 :Q.

But in all fairness, although many of the cases are extremely expensive, they do make more basic models that are within more 'reasonable' price ranges. I couldn't be happier with my PC-7b Plus II and it only cost me around $100.

Simple compared to what other case exactly?

- Compartmentalized
- Pre-cut for water cooling
- Pre-cut for running cables underneath motherboard tray
- One of the best tool-less 5.25 bay designs I've seen
- Supports dual PSUs
- Magnetic door latches

All that and it's classic gorgeous LL brushed aluminum design.
