I've only heard "through the wire" but it's hot! If the album is anything like that song I'll pick it up.

On a side note....Seven's Travels is poop. Brother Ali's Shadows on the Sun crowns him the new king of Minnesota rap

i prefer sage francis still..

Sage Francis is decent. His style is too Emo for me, though.
Brother Ali is dope, but his voice gets annoying after awhile, IMO.

Emo? Have you heard his Xaul Zan material? Sage can come off hard as anyone. His freestyle battles are some of the best I've heard.

He also has one of the worst lines I have ever heard.
She got a light-skinned friend look like Michael Jackson
Got a dark-skinned friend look like Michael Jackson

You must be joking.... those two lines are possibly some of the funniest lyrics I've heard all year

This is an awesome rap CD, it's not that "kill everyone, f*ck bitches and ho's" kind of rap. It's got a deep, struggling to survive sound to it. Reminds me of Talib Kweli and Hitek (who make a cameo on this CD) but has really good beats and really good rhymes.

If you like hip-hop don't miss this CD!!

This is the best commercial hip hop release in a LONG time... I'm really feelin' it...

The two bootleg's I've heard both had the Slow Jamz song on it. I can say with the utmost confidence this is the worst hip-hop song I've heard in -years-. No matter how many times I hear it I can't believe anyone could like it. Twista? Whoever gave him a deal should be beaten over and over again. Jamie Foxx on the hook? While it's somewhat funny he has no business being on a real song.

Kanye please, please take it off your album!

Slow Jamz is a dope song!
I guess it's not your flavor but man, I haven't heard anybody knock it down like that.

what do you want in a song?

banging beat, tight lyrics, and a song that's actually about something every now and then doesn't hurt. As much as I really hate alot of the no talent rappers coming out these days (Chingy/Fabolous/etc), Twista by far takes the prize. Can you understand more than every third word he says? He raps fast which shows something but just about anyone can do that, the talent lies in being able to come across clear and not mumble. I really thought the song was a joke the first time I saw it on MTV Jams. I have alot of friends who are DJs and radio personalities and we're pretty much all in agreement. Through the Wire is one of my favorite songs to come out recently but Slow Jamz makes it really, really hard for me to respect Kanye West as an artist w longevity. Time will tell though.

Oh, btw, anyone hear Kanye on the Wendy Williams show (Philly/Power 99) one day last week? Damn, she wouldn't let off trying to get him to talk about the accident. I thought he was going to break down and start crying on the air.

yeah i could careless about twista, i can barely understand it. though, when i heard it the first couple times i loved the song. i had no idea that was Jaime Foxx on the chorus. i like the song more knowing they did that. it's not like he's terrible. Also, Kanye has some of the funniest lyrics around.

K-west and his mascot was on TRL last night showing off the new album. This guy really thinks hes going to win a Grammy. Ridculous! :) 50 maybe, but I dont see him going mainstream unless its on someone else album as a producer.

Didn't hear the W.W. show interview... did you tape it? Sux not being able to listen to Power 99 down here in the DC area :frown:

Overall, I do like Slow Jamz... I like the beat and Twista's off the hook, b/c IMO he raps fast AND I can understand him... Also, if you don't like R&B, you probably won't like Slow Jamz, b/c it really falls under the category of R&B and not really hiphop. It was made for ladies, and has a highly sarcastic/humorous edge to the lyrics (if you listen to it, that's why they got Jamie Foxx) to sum it up.

Have you heard Twista's album yet? Listen to the song Art and Life, it's sick. Kanye supplies the hot beats and Twista unloads the lyrical firepower. IMO, Twista would lyrically murder anyone on the scene right now sides Eminem...

He doesn't rap too fast, you just listen too slow.
I can hear everything he says clearly and concisely, if you want to listen who raps so fast that you will never understand, listen to somebody like Busdriver. And by the way, rapping fast takes EXTREME skill (breath control, cadence, and flow).

Art and Life wasn't produced by Kanye. That's not even his style. That sounds like a Just Blaze beat, but I could be wrong, but it's DEFINITELY not Kanye.

Yup, it was probably Red Spyda or Toxic. Young Chris and Free tore the track up as well.

I don't think Twista raps too fast either. Maybe some people are running 233MMX and we're running a 3 Gig P4....
