I absolutely LOVE my iPod..just got it this week from FS/FT and I am glad I did. I had to buy a firewire PCI card too but that's alright, transfer is very fast, so it was worth it. :)

I guarantee that 99% of people who trash Ipod never owned one and just jealous. While it is pricey, there is no other player that can match it's speed, ease of use, size, and elegance. Those who say it's big/heavy obviously never compared it to other products like Archos (POS), Nomad (either Zen or Jukebox) and whatever else is out there.

That being said, I will add that I do not like the new look, if that is a new look. I think it was a silly idea to move the control buttons, they were just fine where they where, and it diminishes it's "clean" look. I will, however, reserve my judgement until the actual product comes out.

I liked the Creative Zen. While it may not be as light as the iPod, it certainly isn't heavy, and I have no problems sticking it in a pocket and walking around with it. Add to that that you can get a 20gb version for half the price of a 20gb iPod, and it's really no contest for me.

I totally agree. Using two hands? Ugh, that is the best part about the iPod - being able to do everything with only one hand.

Which is better? The Ipod or the Nomad Zen?? The nomad zen is cheaper for a 20 gig vs the Ipod 20 gig but how does it stand up in other catagories?

I love the IPOD, Probably one of the top 10 industrail designs of all time.

This new one looks pretty sorry from the redention.

I dont like it. First of all the new button design is a step back. And why a docking station? You can get power from the firewire port and or an AC jack. It just adds more crap to have laying on your desk. I have doubts to the validity of the article. Even the document name is "aprilpods". Hmmmm....

I wouldn't pass judgement on it before it is released.

Personally, I am excited at the possibility of a dock. I can't stand leaving my iPod just laying on the desk. It makes sense.

I have one and I love it. People who say it's over priced trash really can't understand having 20GB of music at their fingertips for whatever mood they tend to be in. Especially for those long walks on campus. While it may not be for everyone, it's great for some. The newer iPods don't really appeal to me simply because I am pretty sure they are using Apple's proprietary format for audio encoding, much like Sony's format for Minidisc. This will ruin them.

I'd like them to revert back to the original design, keep the USB 2.0 and include an AM/FM tuner and I'd buy one.

Will this new iPod be sold through Dell (fingers crossed)?

i'm sticking with my pda

I've been thinking about a PDA, but they don't really have the storage capacity for me. Least not the ones I've looked at. Are there any that do?

The iPod is easily one of the best purchases I have ever made, and I do buy a lot of items.

P.S. The Apple Store is down right now as of 10:00AM (it was working fine about 2 minutes ago). There is a "We'll be back soon" sign so it means they are updating their hardware right now. Can't wait to see their new iPod. :)

Seeing a photo of it I think I like it better than the old style. The remote jack is seperate which is a step up but the remote is still too big and clunky.

This is awesome, Griffin Technologies announced on Friday 4/25 the iTrip for $35 which adds FM Tuner but I'd still like to see the iPod come with an FM tuner built-in.
