I'm not really sure why they put those buttons above the scrollwheel/below the screen - they were fine where they were before.

The docking station is cute, but unnecessary.

The only redeeming feature of this 'redesign' (barely...) is USB 2.0 and that is big. A very nice change indeed. However, seeing as I just got my iPod a month and a half ago I'll stick with what I got. :p

What I would really like to see is a wired remote+headphone cable in one wire. Currently there is the wired remote and then you plug the headphones into that...the result is about 3ft of extra cable that I have to jam into my pocket.

It looks like they are getting rid of the 5G and 20G models, and the price of the 10G model will drop to $299 :)

Most computers don't have firewire but have, at least, USB 1.1. It's handy for transferring files.

Every Mac for at least the past 2 years have had firewire ports.

If the dock isn't powered by an AC adaptor then yes. Otherwise its a good idea...

I have one local friend that owns a Mac.

On the whole, something like 5% of computers bought are Macs (it might be a bit higher now).

Thus, most, certainly not all, computers lack firewire ports. Mine did until I got an iPod - then I bought a firewire card.

Cool, maybe the prices of the "older" ipods will come down so I can get rid of my archos POS.

Ditto.

Also its too thick, high and heavy in the pocket.

The remote sucks, the remote clip sucks and has no lcd display.

The position of the headphone socket is bad and the 3.5mm jack sticks out far too much.

(had a 20gb version and sold it on for the reasons above!)

No sleeker product then a good MD imho for music.
