That was in Office XP. And in Outlook Express for years before that. Nothing new. The biggest thing with Office 2003 (aside from it needing Win2K SP3 or XP to run) is that it puts Publisher back into Office.Originally posted by: Gand1
This is all part of the Micro$haft empire! And why you need to buy office 2003. It incorperate HTML mail, specifically Hotmail, as just another mailbox. It works, looks and acts just like a POP mail box but links to Hotmail!![]()

Unlike the old hotmail which had a dynamic link, within your inbox, for each message, the new hotmail finds itself in the need of using javascript on the links. So, instead of being able to right click a link and open in a new window you have to click the link and have javascript populate a stupid form on the page and that form's submission is how a link is opened. more and more sites are doing this and it buggarly bothers the sh*t out of me. The reason is that with hotmail for instance if I have 3 legit emails within 10 total (rest spam garbage), I'd generally right click and open all 3 in their own windows to read and then delete the others in my primary window. Now though I have to manually go through each one I want and then in a long contrived, 15 minute process, delete the other 7!
Plus, you can't log in to hotmail now and see how many emails you have without going the extra step to click on the MAIL button. Hotmail blows me!
I'm sorry if you read this far.

Why would that be necessary for a link?Originally posted by: Argo
I'm a web developer (J2EE) and the reason this is done, is because you normally have some sort of error checking before you follow the link. And that's where javascript comes into play.
