I was gonna say ask them what they like to drink. Get a 6 pack of beer or something. They can decide to drink it then or take it with them.

I did bring out cups of ice and an assortment of bottled water and diet dr pepper and diet pepsi. I ended up tipping each of the 3 guys 10 bucks also and they were very appreciative. They didn't fill the tub or hook up the electrical, just put it on the porch where I wanted it, put the cover lifter on it, and hauled away the old shell.

Damn, and it was how many week late? Granted it might not have been their fault it was late (but if the owner was involved I'd say they shouldn't get a free pass on that), but that counts as an install? If I was paying for a tub, delivery and installation I'd expect them to hook it up and test that its working correctly.

Guess its one of those damned if you do, damned if you don't. If you make a fuss they might've been even worse and any problems they might be dicks about. But your experience with them seems to have been pretty bad. Hopefully it works fine and you don't have to deal with them again.

The owner did come out around 5 after the store closed and apologized for it being late. It's a mom and pop business and his wife was out of town on Monday unexpectedly (health issues with relative). He and I filled it and he hooked up the power and we went over the chemical schedule, etc. He then attended a gathering for a friend who was killed in a cycling accident and then came back afterwards to ensure it was heating up properly and I paid him the remainder of the bill at that time.

Because the electrician needs the hot tub in place and empty?

I have a hot tub and when I had my patio installed, I had the electrician install all the electrical and pull a line to where the tub was to be installed and when the guys delivered it, they hooked it up.

How many lawnmowers do you need?

I like lawnboys, but moreso, I've been teaching my sons how to work on small engines and mechanical things in general. We bought several at auctions and have fixed them up and resold them. My 13 yr old is very proficient at fixing mowers, weed eaters, chain saws, everything small engine, and we are going to buy a broken car and fix it so that when he is 14, he'll have a vested interest in taking care of it when he is old enough to get his learner's permit. He's better with hand tools than many grown men are.

We kept a few mowers as I have 3 boys that mow neighborhood lawns and have a spare or two for parts. They are normally in the shed, but we are cleaning it out and parked them near the fence temporarily.

That's great. Good to see you not being a dick about it paid off.
