Checked it out this morning, pretty slick. 🙂

Google Maps is so far beyond its competition, its almost obscene. :/

I guess I am just used to how awesome using Google Navigation/Maps is on Android. A few weeks ago I borrowed a friend's iPhone4 to navigate us to dinner then back home from a day at Disneyland. The experience is way different. Maps for iPhone can give you directions but it's certainly not a real navigation program. I know it doesn't claim to be but it's been so long since I've used maps for iPhone that I forgot how shitty it is compared to the Android experience.

Now if they take the awesomeness of maps and apply it to the entirety of the Android os with its cleanliness, smoothness, etc we have a real winner.

Love the google maps too bad it tracks my location and probably updates google with it. /puts on tinfoil hat

How do you get the buildings or is that just not available for the Droid/Milestone? I can get the 3D view but with no buildings, what good is this? 🙁

I don't think all areas have buildings. I searched Downtown LA and got buildings to pop up on the google maps in 3D. (Optimus S) No 3D buildings around me. 🙁

Theres 3D buildings on regular Google Maps last time I checked in SF. I went to downtown SF and I couldn't find anything. Shrug.

Maybe I'll try NYC.

Never had an issue with Google Maps.
I use it often but for long drives I use my Garmin 1690.

Google Maps gives me incorrect directions once a month at least. What you said's laughable, does it look more high tech? Sure, but I want accurate directions not eye candy.

Bing Maps is better...

Not a definite statement by any measure. Like posted above, it depends by area. In some areas, Bing epically sucks.
