Yes indeed, that Odette chick was smokin, they probably need to find a way to justify her coming back. Cloverfield was a fun movie but I hope the next version doesn't rely on so much shakycam as the first one.

As to Godzilla, I'm going to see if my Japanese engineers are interested in seeing this and making a night of it -- should be fun. Not sure if hot sake or cold sake goes better with Godzilla, guess will have to test both...

Unless the actual movie is not up to the trailers I think this movie's gonna kick some box office but -- might be the top earner of the year. There's a lot of buzz for it with almost all of it positive and having Walter White isn't going to hurt either. Saw a post on youtube from a woman saying she can't wait to take her kids to see it ... how often do you see women chiming in like that for a movie like this. The interesting thing is that this movie is by all account a crap load darker than all but the original 1954 movie so maybe the mom will have some scared kids -- not that there's anything wrong with that!

Most blockbuster action movies cater to the younger audience because there the ones that go to the movies most of the time and this movie looks to have a good shot a drawing them in, but in addition, there will be a bunch of older folks that grew up with Godzilla that will go when they might otherwise not.

had this discussion with coworker yesterday

- last Godzilla had p.diddy which made it seem like a BS summer blockbuster
- this Godzilla has cranston which lends it some credibility

also: trailer looks badass

at first i was like meh but the more I see Walter White in the trailers.. previews etc.. DAMN!! I need to see this NAO!!!!!

Nope, there are supposed to be 2 other monsters, called MUTOs. Whether they get specific names, we'll see.
That one pic DID sort of favor Rodan though, I'll agree.

I'll let you all know...got 2 tickets for the first showing here at 7pm, May 15 in IMAX 3D. My son and I will be there with our Godzilla T-shirts on. Yes, we're Godzilla nerds.
 
Saw an early preview of Godzilla 2014 last night and it was amazing. 1000x better than Godzilla vs Ferris Bueller. IMDB current rating is 9.0 which is about right.

Go see it, you wont be disappointed.
 
holy shit, that movie was fucking awesome

came in hopeful, left blown away. so good I almost want to pay to see it again.

You should watch this. It left the whole theater cheering, multiple times.

My theater cheered a few times as well.

I liked The Host just as much!
