I am beyond excited to see this movie. Because Godzilla, that's why. Sadly, I'll be in South Africa so I'll have to wait until the end of May before it hits theaters there.

Troll Hunter is an entertaining movie. I liked it a lot too.

exactly. i will see this movie just because its Godzilla. I have low expectations after the first US Godzilla movie though.

Troll hunter was great. for a low budget movie it was really good.

I think I want to see this, so I'm not watching any trailers. Movie trailers give away way too much these days. I always enjoy a movie more if I don't have 10 of the biggest moments spoiled for me ahead of time.

The Matthew Broderick "Godzilla" was just a giant lizard misnamed.

The last Godzilla movie blew goat cock because it wasn't Godzilla. At least they didn't reimagine him too much in this one, there's still hope.

I hadn't heard anything of this film until I saw the trailer a few months back. WOW looks great and I'll be definitely seeing it. More interested in this than the new captain america movie personally.

I'm excited. Gareth Edwards' first movie, Monsters, was very creatively conceived on a shoestring budget. I would not expect Cranston, Juliette Binoche, Ken Watanabe or Elizabeth Olsen to be interested in starring in a POS monster movie. I heard Cranston talking about Godzilla on Stern and he said what most appealed to him was the strong character development, again not something I would expect in a crummy movie.

Godzilla movies are about one thing and that's big effing monsters laying waste to stuff. The US version sucked because it was about Mathew Broderick. The star must be Godzilla or will disappoint. I don't know if Americans can pull it off but I hope so.

No, it sucked because "Godzilla" looked like a giant Iguana. He couldn't even breathe fire, and plain old air to air missiles killed him.

That would have been an okay movie is it just wasn't called "Godzilla".

This new one is going to be incredible. Hearkening back to the original 1954 Godzilla, a true force of nature that is unstoppable.

I haven't seen a movie in an actual theater in probably 5 or more years and usually wait until it's been vetted by folks I trust and then pick up the Bluray, but this one I think I see in the theater.

There is enough indications that this will be good that I may just risk it...

I work for a Japanese company and maybe I'll see if some of the Japanese engineers want to make a night of it and do a dinner, movie, bar night -- should be entertaining to watch Godzilla with a bunch of Japanese engineers...

I'll be going to see it, but I remain somewhat skeptical. As far as the "iguana", I agree, but I thought the whole movie was crap. The star of the movie needs to be Godzilla.

I don't understand what everyone is seeing that makes this any different than the tons of other movies that are like this? Other than the name nothing sets it apart.

I think there are a few things about it that have raised the interest.

1. This is Godzilla so there's a history going back 60 years

2. The previous American version sucked and had Ferris Bueler

3. The special effect look to be a bunch better than anything in the franchise thus far

4. The new lead actor is a meth dealer

5. This appears to be going back somewhat to the original in terms of the darkness in the storyline

But, if the next Cloverfield was coming out soon I'm sure a bunch of people would be pumped to see that as well...

yah yah Cloverfield 2 with more Abercrombie models as actors. 😀 Mmm Jessica Lucas. And someone dig Odette Annable out of the rubble.
