Thanks. But all I get on TerraServer is a big gray, textured box. I guess that means no special, supersize-me detail satellite map for my area?

Yep, means they don't have that tileset available (the urban area imagery). It's only really the major cities apear in Urban Areas I think.

You can try changing the tileset to 1 (t=1) and scale up to 10 (s=10) for a greyscale wider area view of other places.

FYI, if I remember correctly, the location in the link is the Microsoft campus in Seattle.

Pick out your house from the Google map and click on the sattelite link.

Map to Google

Put in your street address and zipcode & that's it.

(I could see the new brick planter in my neighbor's yard...:camera:

Your lying...either the brick planter isn't new or you couldn't see it. I would assume those satellite images are at least two years old.
Only a sackofshit can call me a liar.
In terms of the 25 year old houses in this neighborhood, planter was new last year.
Next time, pack a smile instead of a smoking ego!

John333,

Thank you - I FINALLY figured it out using our home town. I got the grey screen until I changed what you referred to as the tile sets.

Now if I can just use this to scout for new hunting spots...

You can always use the regular terraserver interface (or even something like worldwind) to get the lat/lon, and then plug them into the URL - that's how I got a good picture of my house (or rather the bit of earth where is has since been built :) )
