Cant believe it!! I just got a EVGA GTX 780 SC ACX Card off craigslist for $300 bucks brand new in the box unopened. Guy said he buys storage units and this card was in it along with a bunch of laptops and computers he got the unit for $1000 I am going by there first thing in the morning to see what else he has!!. At first it looked like a normal 780 box nothing saying Superclocked, ACX or anything then I opened it up all seals intact and brand new saw what it was and immediately handed the guy $300. such a great upgrade from the GTX580 I was running.

Congratulations, that's definitely a good price, at least $200 under MSRP.

My first thought too, who would put a brand new high-end video card in storage where it won't be used?

OP got a fantastic deal but that was probably little Johnny's graduation present.

Somebody who was buying high end computer equipment instead of paying rent, got kicked out and had to store everything, then realized he didn't have any money to pay the storage facility?

It seems it would be unpackaged at least if that were the case. Someone into computer parts would not "forget" about parts like that. I can see entire computers with a card like that happening to be inside of it getting left in storage but NIB?
The envy is overt :D
True, I'm the guy paying rent instead of getting a card I need to feed this 2560x1440 monitor.

Truth be told more valuable items have been found in storage lockers once they have been auctioned off. Anyways good find. Enjoy your card and all the games it will crush with its performance.

thanks all!! I checked out the rest of the stuff the guy had at his shop looks like the guy with the storage unit also left a pretty high end gaming system in there I7-3770K, corsair H80 Water cooler, GTX 480, 16GB ram and Gigabyte Z77-UD3 MoBO, 128 GB SSD drive and 2-2 TB Harddrives in a Coolermaster HAF XM case. Looks like he got kicked out of a house there was furniture, clothes, tv, dishes etc. I was hoping for some good laptops but they where just old dell D600s

REMEMBER PAY YOUR STORAGE FEES....LOL

I brought the gaming system for $600 from the guy after I verified it worked. so for $900 I think I got a great new system for some BF4 and Titanfall

Possible credit card fraud purchase? The bad guys get working credit card info, place internet orders and have product shipped to storage unit addresses. They rent a unit for a month, and are out within a couple weeks. By the time credit card owner gets with merchant and merchant tracks where product was shipped, they're gone. Pretty common actually.

2 years ago I caught a kijiji ad on new years eve. Mountain mods case, 980x, UD7, Silverstone Strider 1500w, 2 - 590 hydrocoppers, 3-ssd's, with a full watercooling system for $1000.
I'm positive the guy needed some drug money for new years night. Told me to bring cash and to give his wife $200 and slip him the $800.
Kept the PS and one hydrocopper, parted everything else out and made $1500.

We have some detectives up in here. Drug money, credit card fraud, theft? Keep them coming guys. I love it.

Joking aside, I think we're all just jelly. Including me. Great find.
