my favorite has to be missing and probably field of innocence. both not on the popular album 🙂 ah, gotta love it when a band says "go steal our original stuff, don't give the ebayers money"

definatly. I managed to get all the stuff from origin and the 2 EPs. Demo disc too. There are acouple tracks from that one that apear on neither fallen, origin or the EPs.

I managed to pull a Evanescence 1997-2003 collection from somewhere, though I don't remember where. There's some good stuff on it, but some is of pretty bad quality.

The new single doesn't excite me as much as Bring Me To Life did for Fallen. I'll have to give their new album a good long preview on iTunes before purchasing.

Does her voice have more than one pitch, range? The overplayed songs from their last album had her singing in one voice pitch throughout. Terrible and annoying.

her pitch does vary a little. Most of the time it's just that belting. It sounds GOOD, though. I mean, what other female singer has a very wide variation of pitches? Britney? Christina? Gwen? Naaw.

I'm an Evanescence fan myself, but when I heard them live a few years back, she sounded awful! Turned me off them for a while. It seems her voice is more suited to the slow ballads more than anything else. I think I'll just stick to the CD's for now. 🙂

I like Amy's voice, but the one interview/camera-following-her-around thing I saw on her made me loathe her for the bitch she is. I think she was in a Rock-n-Roll museum and saw Eric Clapton's guitar and she as like "Who the fvck is Eric Clapton?!"

FFS! You do not get to be in a successful band if you have to wonder who Eric Clapton is. DIAWC, you ungrateful bitch!

Die in a wheelchair?

Great news. I was flipping through the channels a few nights ago and landed on MTV. Thought to myself that sounds like Evanescense. Sure enough it was. 🙂 I loved their first album.

I can't wait. A lot of their stuff didn't go public... everyone needs to hear it all. Anyway what's different on this new album is no Ben Moody influence... good or bad.. ?

Christina may be a trashy whore, but she can actually sing very well. The other two are garbage though, even when they are sythasized to death.

Sell outs. Commercialized bands suck ass.

I wouldn't call them sellouts. Commericalized music is where the money is. Every artist out there is out to make a living - and if it means going commericalized/mainstream, then so be it. If you don't like the music, don't listen to it...

hmmm... i really wasnt feeling the new song this morning in my car... maybe it was too early... i will try listening to it on my drive home... see if its any better

yes! same song over and over and over again! yes!
Ignorance! Don't tell me - you've only heard what they play on the radio ?

I bought their album when it came out. ALL of their songs sound the same.
If that's the case then I'd say most bands are like that. They sound similar if you are a casual listener. Contrast My Immortal / Hello and Going Under. Completely different. Now name some bands that are even more different than that.

The 2 songs of linkin park and nickelback sound the same because they are. I trust you've heard that side-by-side comparison with both songs playing at the same time. If they deserve the flak for 2 songs, so be it. But even that's pushing it.

If you really care to listen to EV's music (they've got like 3 albums-worth out there), they are hardly the same. People make casual statements like this all the time and that's because they couldn't give @ sh!t about the music.

there's 4 different versions of my immortal...what one are you referring to

and a lot of the songs on 'fallen' sound the same because ben moody didn't change it up much on that album.

Obviously you're familiar with a lot of the unreleased stuff... Fallen was changed because it had to be "commercialized" before release. It relates to why Origin doesn't exist anymore. Still it doesn't make each song sound the same as the next. My Immortal included in that, btw. I'd still like to understand how bands sound any more different on an album. Slow/melodic songs, hard songs... even the "commercialized" Fallen has that. What's left ?

And it doesn't matter which version of My Immortal... in the "band version" it's still quiet until the very end when they come in for the last minute. Not sure how that's related though.
