That's all I can say after watching that video.
I'm going to have to design a whole new system just to play this game when it comes out.

By the way, SSP, I think the video you are downloading is the history of Doom. It has some Doom3 footage and an interview with JC. The stupid thing was encoded at like 10fps.
Actually no, there's a 30fps one too...much better quality. A putz didn't encode it either.

The muzzle flashes from the pistol and shotgun are really cool, but they seem to linger in the air quite a bit. This game will definitely make me upgrade. I haven't found a game where I've jumped and said "oh sh!t" in a while. I'm really looking forward to this.

I was at E3 this year, to get to see Doom3 you had to get a ticket to "Doom Theater" which was this enormous industrial looking box next to the XBox booth (I'd show you a picture but my digital camera got stolen 🙁). When you got inside they showed the demo. I don't know how they shot the video as they asked that all cameras be turned off before the demo began (I imagine the vid was shot from someone's lap). Anyway, once you see it in person you'll probably be out getting a GF4 4600 or whatever's newest THAT DAY. It looks absolutely fantastic.

I got it from you, it was VERY fast. Thanks.

The vid was awesome.... I'm not sure what else to say...

From what I could gather from the john carmack interview over at gamespy, a GeForce4 will run the game fine, as will a Radeon 8500. I think he said the cutoff point was a GeForce3. Anything below or anything in the MX line (including GF4 MX) won't be able to pull it off. He said GF2's could run the game in 320x240 probably.

This is only going to be on the computer (as consoles out now other than XBOX aren't powerful enough) and will prolly require a GF4 card.

Carmack said it would be on Xbox, the levels would just be smaller because of memory limitations.

Link? everything I've read said PC only, with no plans for Xbox. Sure it's possible, but currently there are no plans.

I'll get whatever video card I have to! OMG, I've never seen nothing like that. The lighting was incredible.

It basically looks like the pre rendered GC resident evil...but real time.

And finally someone is using the bump mapping we've had on our cards for 4 years!
