I'm a believer that a sequel is never better than the original, so I'm not sure if this can beat batman begins. however, different rules may apply since the batman series isn't exactly just another sequel

I think you should keep more of an open mind rather than taking an easy route and adhering to ridiculous rules. There are PLENTY of sequels that are widely thought to be better than the original, and many of them are comic book movies... Spiderman 2 > Spiderman 1, X-Men 2 > X-Men 1, Blade 2 > Blade 1 (granted, while most may think the sequel was better than the original, most also think that the 3rd movie to each of those respective trilogies is by far the worst 😛)

See i would have to disagree with Blade, Blade 1 was awesome, Blade 2 sucked, and I couldn't watch Blade 3 it was so bad.

looks awesome. I think ledger will be better than jack by a longshot

He may well do a good job. But let's not put Ledger on a pedestal with one of the greatest actors of all time just because he died tragically young, eh?

Just because Jack is one of America's greatest actors, doesn't mean that Heath won't play a better Joker sirjonk, we're talking about one role not a career.

i have yet to see a dark and evil joker in movies or elsewhere (comic books aside).

ledger (based on the previews) portrays the perfect joker to go alongside the much darker faceted-than-usual batman.

Well I'll note that Batman (w/Keaton) was directed by Tim Burton and Chris Nolan's revamped series with Bale is going for a considerably darker, grittier, somewhat more realistic tone, and achieving it in spades. Heath's Joker (from what I can tell in the previews) would have been as out of place in Burton's version, as Nicholson's lively and bombastic joker would have been out of place in Nolan's version.

So to say one is "better" than the other is probably not a comparison worth making.

Zim was right, inasmuch as someone could do a specific role better than Jack, but Biggestmuff is also probably right in that we are going to be hit with a barrage of "Heath's joker kills Jack's" on tons of kiddie blogs and such when the movie is released.

That was fucking awesome! The scene w/ batman gliding was epic! Need to watch this one in IMAX.

IMAX would be the ONLY way to properly watch this movie. I saw the extended trailer (6 mins) when I saw I am Legend in IMAX and it sent shivers down my spine. I enjoyed the TDK trailer more than I Am Legend

And non comic book....T2>T1.

Aliens was better than Alien.

New thread material. IMO, it had more action but was not a superior film. Great in it's own right. But comparing a popcorn action flick to a horror/suspense film...apples/oranges.

Well, I'd much rather see that barrage rather than the bullshit I saw being posted months ago. "omg, no way Heath will be better than Jack!"...."Jack IS the Joker!"..."whahhaaaaaaa"

It was ridiculous. You had practically everyone bitching about the casting of Heath. I said before he died that I thought he would be good..and I still think he'll be good. Fucking amazing? Not sure yet, but has potential.

I like nicholson, but i never liked him as the joker, and i never liked any of the previous batman movies.

I don't know about that, but she's nowhere near as attractive as Katie which is really sad 🙁

Was thinking the exact same thing when I read that...

Seriously 🙁

Cast some eye candy damnit. And Wikipedia says Katie backed out of the role due to scheduling conflicts? For what? So she could film another fucking chick flick?
