Out or out out?
Considering it comes out June 7th, answer your own q.
Coldplay's record label EMI have a lot riding on the band's new album 'X & Y' and are reported to be keeping it under tight security until the official release date.
The stringent decision has been made in order to stop the release from falling in the wrong hands and appearing on illegal download networks before it is unleashed to the public.
Coldplay's follow up up to the incredibly successful 2002 breakthrough release 'A Rush of Blood to the Head' stands to make enormous revenues for the record label, and the album is likely to be one of the biggest selling releases of the past decade.
An advance leak of the album would have great reprecussions for EMI Music, and potentially make an impact on its own commercial future. EMI have already lost a substantial amount of revenue due to the delay in the album's release where share prices plummeted earlier this year.
It is reported that 'X & Y' will be kept in sealed music players with security guards.
Even music reviewers and critics, who usually receive advance copies of releases for reviews in monthly publications, must adhere to the tight security policy surrounding the album.
Instead of a CD promo copy, reviewers may only preview Coldplay's third album via an iPod which is locked in a glass case and surrounded by security guards.
The question remains though, if the album leaks what will EMI say or do? It will be a major pie on the face for the music giant.
The album is released on June 6th. The first single from the album, 'Speed of Sound', which has already become the biggest selling

Do you like that style of music (U2/Coldplay style pop)?
If so, you really need to be listening to Doves. They've been doing it better, and longer than Coldplay. They're fairly huge in the UK but virtually unknown here, despite making some very good albums.
Check them out - official site
They have three albums out so far: Lost Souls, The Last Broadcast , and Some Cities, which was just released in March. I'd give you a favorite songs list, but it'd fill the page. Lost Souls & Last Broadcast are both start-to-finish listening goodness. Some Cities is a slight departure, but its growing on me.

I was a big fan of the band before anyone in NA had heard of them. I loved Parachutes from start to finish and attended many of the band's first, tiny Toronto gigs. I met Chris Martin about five years ago, at one of their concerts. I told him I was dying to hear more music as I loved even their b-sides and EPs.
I wasn't a big fan of AROBTTH, aside from a few tracks.
I haven't listened to this new ablum in its entirety, but I'm not blown away by the first listen.

I dunno, I've been listening to it for about a week now and it's starting to grow on me. I don't think it's as strong as their last LP but it's a different direction for them. The songs are more epic.
I am still pissed that they fvcked up Talk though.

I don't think that it's been leaked, this close to launch they're probably sending shipping them out to wholesalers and stores so it's hardly surprising that someone snagged a copy. Not a bad album all in all, I don't regret pre-ordering it.
