As many in ATG have learned over the years, C&D is barely a step above Consumer Reports. I'm not saying the Mustang V6 is anywhere near as powerful as the Camaro SS, but the weight and usable performance at sub-100 speeds seems fairly even, a race would be irritatingly close for the SS owner considering the price difference.

Hmm. I've been into cars for years now and never heard that C&D was the Charlie of the automotive world.

I'd really like to see the Camaro lose some weight too but it's only 250lbs heavier than the GT. That's only a 7% increase. Around the Lightning Lap it's much closer to the GT than the V6.

Yeah C&D has lost a ton of credibility over the past few years, they constantly make bizarre and unexplainable editorial conclusions that seem to be based on things other than rationality.

The Camaro SS does pretty well once it gets out of the hole.

Get a Skoda Yeti, best car ever.

Or if you don't want perfection then Mazda6 V6.

My old 98 Camaro V6 auto would do 32mpg on the highway at 70mph easy :p

It wasn't "fast" but it was quick enough. The 3.42 rear gears helped the acceleration a lot compared to the original 3.08 rear it had.

I miss that car. I want another.
