It appears someone got sloppy at Canon. You can browse their directory for upcoming cameras. Anything new has an Aug 13th date.

The interesting stuff is the 20D. There are some high res pictures of it.
The rumored specs are 8mp, 1.6x crop, 5fps, Ettl2, 9AF pts, 25 frame buffer

Perhaps even more interesting are the 10-22 EF-s lens and a 17-85 IS lens to complement the camera.

Yeah, the 7.1 Megapixel G6 looks nice, and the A400's are kind of cute looking. I didn't see any pictures for a "Digital Rebel 2", though :(

But it's only F/4-5.6... too bad, would have liked to see F/3.5-4 like on the 24-85.

Sure, a stop faster would have been nice but the 27-136 effective focal range is what really looks nice and it has IS to boot. That should make it a no-brainer walk-around lens provided the quality is up to par, which I would expect.

yea i saw this on DPreview last night

that 10-22 3.5-4.5 is more impressive to me then the camera, with the current 1.3 crop factor on the 10d Mark 2 this is 13-28 which is insane

noone knows the specs of the cam yet, at least noone did last night

You mean the 20D? (There is no 10DMkII.) If so, the 20D is 1.6x crop. I wouldn't be expecting a 1.3x crop in an entry-level DSLR anytime soon. Read this to find out why.

Yeah, the 1DMkII is 1.3x, I should have put that together myself. ;) As for the 20D, Canon is still sitting on the info but apparantly some sites in Asia have already broken their NDA... and these are the specs:

EOS-20D
8.2 MegaPixels
DIGIC II
1:1.6x Crop
9 Point focusing
1/8000s Max Shutter speed
5fps Continuous speed
25 frame buffer
EF-s support
E-TTL II support
0.2sec startup time
50g lighter than 10D

Price US$1600 RRP
(Street price should be closer to 1300 they say)

August 20 - Announcement
September 20 - On Sale

Also 2 Lenses will be announced at launch of 20D
EF-s 10-22mm /f 3.5-4.5
EF-s 17-85mm /f 4-5.6 IS (Will be sold with 20D also like the 300D)

There is some debate as to whether the translated text (from Korean, IIRC) said "0.2sec startup time" or "0.2sec faster than 10D startup time". If the latter is the case, I guess the D70 is still the only option in an instant-on DSLR.

(As an aside, I also don't know about this 5fps/25frame buffer -- that sounds like 1DS territory to me -- but then again the D30 to D60 was a pretty big leap too. I guess we'll have to wait and see on the official word from Canon, which apparantly will be on the 20th.)

if it does 5fps with a 25 buffer thats inpressive teh D70 does 3 FPS and the buffer hits abfter about 15 with fast CF media

the D2H and 1DS do 8 FPS with a buffer of 40

[/b]It wouldn't surprise me.

I guess they figure if you're going to beat the D70, you may as well really beat it.
