Building the system with specs listed below.
Just received the Mobo and CPU from NewEgg yesterday.
Installed the LanParty 875ProB Mobo (New-out of the box) with P4 2.80C
with Thermalright SP-94 Heat sink as instructed and all other components
first in the case then out of the case on the Mobo box.
Hooked up PSU and 12V connector and CPU fan 3pin connector too as well as
main power to Mobo.
Hooked up everything else (all components less than a month old - Vid card, Sound card, etc)
Turn on the power switch on back first from 0 to -- (I get a flash of light and fan turn when I
do this-is this normal?)
Hit the power switch - everything seems to be running, case fans, CPU fan, Led's and optical
drives, and then I get a LONG loud single beep that lasts about 5 seconds and I shut down
power using back swith (-- to 0) immediately.
Tried again and same thing it Long beeps for about 5 seconds and then pauses and then Long
beeps again and I shut down.
I tried resetting the CPU chip and Heatsink& Fan as well as putting the stock heatsink and fan
on there that came with the P4 instead of the new Thermalright- same symptoms.
I reseated the Vid card and Mem sticks and also tried bare min boot (CPU, 1 stick of Ram, and Vid card
nothing else) SAME symptoms - LONG Beep that says to me something is WRONG!
I took Mobo out of case and hooked it up on cardboard- Same thing! and
there was nothing under the MOBO in the case that could have caused it to
not ground properly.
Also, nothing is coming on the screen because it doesn't get a chance to, I shut it down when I hear that
LONG beep.
This is not the normal beep at boot, this is definitely an ERROR beep!
Please help.
What could be going wrong??
