New bond actor found

So, they've found the new bond actor.

Daniel Craig

I actually think he's a pretty good actor, i liked him in road to perdition. And he's not one of those insanely bad actors like eric bana and so on. I actually have some hope for the next movie. Even though they're not bringing back connery.

I found the news on a danish page so it'd be redundant to give you the link. But it originally came from "The Sun" a british tabloid, and it's been approved by several sources at Eon Productions, who's behing d the bond movies.

OH WHAT IN HELL. That guy is SUCH A FRUITCAKE. DAMN DAMN DAMN HE IS SO DUMB. Typical though. 007 has been going down hill for years.

EDIT: Actually I'm thinking of somebody else. Carry on.

Last I heard, Negotiations haven't been closed with Pierce. I, personally, think he'll do at least one or two more... who sees any of his non-bond films anymore anyway?

I still think that with a little age, Jude Law would make a great Bond.

I think what they're looking for is an actor to become bond. I mean, Jude Law allready has a name. I think it's the same with owens, they're trying to take an actor and make him the same as james bond. That's why i he is the perfect pick. A man that has proved he can, but hasn't made a name for himself.

...but I do remember seeing Clive Owen on either Conan or Leno last week and he said that he had no interest AT ALL in playing Bond

If you read the article, apparently Clive Owen and this guy were top candidates - only Clive Owen told his agents that he didn't want it because he was afraid it'd limit his career.

The thing about them telling Brosnan he was "too old" seems weird though - I thought the reason he passed was because he wanted more money + a cut of the profits and they wouldn't cave.

Clive would have only worked out if they made BMW the official Bond car again instead of AM. Seeing "The Hire" behind the wheel of something else just would not have looked good.

I say they should have opened up the criteria a bit more. Let Elisha Cuthbert do it. Her + suit + cool car+ toys + moneypenny + gettin the chick at the end of the movie = $$$

mmmm, Elisha Cuthbert + Octopussy 😀

In related news...this is great:

Now, Connery is bringing his brand of Bond to a whole new medium: games. The Reporter quotes the Oscar-winning actor as saying he has been lending his voice talent to From Russia With Love, the next James Bond game from Electronic Arts. Based on the 1963 movie of the same name, the game will also feature the likeness of the then-33-year-old actor, who is currently 74. It will also feature the 1963-era likenesses of his Love costars, including the late Robert Shaw, who played villain Donald "Red" Grant, and the late Desmond Llewelyn, who played gadget master Q through most of the spy-film series.

Connery confirmed to be in new bond video game.

There have been several 'official' rumors before. I remember seeing press coverage about Eric Bana supposedly being offered the role. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I honestly don't know much about the guy (although I agree with the sentiment that he looks more like Steve McQueen than Bond.) There's a lot of decent candidates out there. Originally I wanted Clive Owen, but unless they're planning on departing from the dry jokes and going for a much more raw 'Bourne' feel I no longer feel he'd be the best choice. I'm increasingly thinking Hugh Jackman could fit a younger Bond role nicely, but doubt he or any other 'big name' actor will be offered the role.
