I just wonder who the bad guys would be, they need something menacing like that whatchamacallit organization in the first Bonds. Maybe Al-Qaeda?

Clive Owen got too popular for his own good. If he had been just a bit more obscured, he would've landed the 007 part. Oh well. Clive Owen >>> * (for new Bond)

It makes little difference to me who is Bond as the franchise died many, many years ago. I don't mind Brosnan but the 007 concept is getting very stale. The good ole days were Connery then Moore.

I'm increasingly thinking Hugh Jackman could fit a younger Bond role nicely, but doubt he or any other 'big name' actor will be offered the role.

Thank you!

ewan? Nah, he's too...I dunno, small and cutesy? Doesn't have the face for it, IMHO. As for Craig...I will always seem his as some sniveling daddy's boy, as he's portrayed oh-so-often.

I haven't put much thought into this debate since I haven't really liked a Bond movie outright in years now.

They should have asked Kiefer Sutherland!

24 meets 007!
CTU meets MI-6
JACK AND BOND AS ONE!

....

ok, i'll stop now. 😱

Pierce Brosnan
Date of birth (location)
16 May 1953
Drogheda, County Louth, Ireland

Daniel Craig (I)
Date of birth (location)
2 March 1968
Chester, England, UK

Ummmm....this guy really isn't THAT much younger than Brosnan is? If they space the movies 4 years apart, there is only 4 movies here before he is just as old?

(And, that said, he LOOKS older than he is, which doesn't help at all!)

Connery was 31 at the time 'Dr. No' was shooting and seemed about right for the role. They need to be looking at actors more like a DECADE younger than these guys....

Clive owen is cool, but I can't see how this would have hurt his career. I would wager that most people don't know who he is. Further, though he covers the bad ass aspect perfectly, I don't know if I'd believe him as a classy womaniser. Overall I think he could do the part decently though.

Of course I have a brutal man crush on sean bean. I mean big time. He could do it. He was already a 009 (?) though, so he can't do 007, and that's a DAMN SHAME.

What they're missing is the old Bond movies were about the character. Now, they focus on how the character uses gadgets. I agree. Brosnan did a good job, but the writing in the last 15 years has been way off.
