Not entirely sure what this is about, only had a quick look, but still managed to find the time to create a TeAm Oops, there I go again

mmm Downloads are like 6kb or so and uploads are like 16kb or so and time/wu is between 1min and 30min..

I gather, It's some kind of platform for scientists and/or science students to model physical dynamic experiments....

you know, like how long for a ball to hit the ground if the wind is blowing up and it is freezing outside and you throw like a girl, etc....

Currently stuff is being run and tested on my personal workstation and that's not ideal yet... I'm still developing and as soon as better hardware is available... people will need to detach-attach perhaps even to a diffrent URL, but I'm not sure yet... So please, test and play, but do not go public too much!

Keep in mind this project is still a one-man-show and I also have to test stuff, so not much time always... Have to manage some clusters as well here ;-)

How do u attach? I tried attaching via BOINC and it asked for e-mail/pass as normal. No space for the account key.

Here's a little more info on this project.. Oh and TA is 23rd!

"Join the Leiden Classical project, and help create a desktop computing grid for any scientist or science student to use to study general classical dynamics. This is the first project which allows its users to submit calculations for the project to compute.

To submit a calculation to the project, download a standalone version of the Classical client and follow the instructions for using it, then submit your calculation to the project's computing grid. "

I like this project because I'm familiar with classical dynamics modeling. (I'm finding that mechanical engineering is quite a bit more rare on anandtech than electrical and computer people, so I'm not surprised that classical dynamics, which is something more akin to a physics major's line of work, would seem a bit unfamiliar.)

I joined this project because I can see myself submitting work in the next few years. I want to design a comprehensive boiling thermodynamic model.

The URL already changed. The project's been growing by leaps and bounds in the last month.

EDIT: New project URL: http://boinc.gorlaeus.net/
(You'll have to detach the old one and re-attach the new one before the old URL goes down in the next month.)

Ok, I'm #2 in TA for Leiden. I know if anyone wants to SMOKE me they can, but it's nice being near the top of SOMETHING. I don't think I'm going to touch the Borg any time soon. Resistance, I have to say, is futile.

At least most of Leiden seems devoted to molecular dynamics simulations. I myself hope to develop a model one day to accurately predict the interaction of a vapor with its own gas in order to study boiling heat transfer, but that's not until I get deep into grad school.
