Hmmm.. solar dynamics and celestial mechanics.. yep, sounds like something "GRRO" should be involved in. ;)

Resistance IS futile. :)

It's a fun little mini-project, and the TeAm is moving up!

Oh, I know, but by default that's how participants and teams are ranked. In a steady state (nobody joins or leaves or changes how their computers are used) RAC will match total credits. The only reason why my total credit is low is that I haven't been with the project for very long, but that's good, because if someone earns a LOT of credit and then leaves, their RAC will drop sharply in a two week period.

Even under those circumstances, RAC will not equal total credit. RAC is Recent Average Credit per day. Total Credit is the sum of all credit produced from all the days involved.

Edit: And at this point seems irrelevant because I can't get any new work. :frown:

I guess I wasn't clear about the term "match." "Match" means equal, and I was wrong to use it. In steady state, they're related to eachother by a constant. I guess "correlate by a factor of 1" would have been a better expression. My bad.

(The formula for average daily credit is a bit more complicated than that. It uses the exponential function and whatnot.)

It's still just as unclear to me what the point you're trying to make is.

RAC doesn't "match" total credit. Let's use my Einstein@Home as an example.. as of this moment, my total credit is 1,038,524.10 while my RAC is 10,271.21 and I started the project on the 01/22/05. Given this information, what is the correlation that you're trying to draw for us?
